finally merged the streamsy Effect rewrite... but if I'd seen what alchemy were cooking I may not have bothered

ALT An X post by dex highlighting an Effect agent harness built by Kyle Mistele: a portable append-only state log, support for Durable Objects, and a retro OpenTUI interface with 10 themes. The quoted post by Gareth Andrew lists three Effect agent frameworks: Fold, Yielded Agent, and Tardigrade, and notes their support for Cloudflare Durable Objects and durability approaches.
This, but the timelines look optimistic. It took a whole generation for us to figure out how to use compilers properly. I'm afraid messy chaos is the new normal
Congrats to Ryan et al.

more fun with @theo's tsc-rust - typescript codemode

three Effect agent frameworks worth checking out:
- Fold by @0xblacklight
- Yielded Agent by @danieljvdm
- Tardigrade by @arjunkmrm
particularly interesting to see they all support cloudflare durable objects as host and worth asking an agent to talk you through their durability approaches
runs on cloudflare workers and is surprisingly fast
memory limits the project size but handles much bigger than I would have guessed - zod v4 typechecks
Announcing tsc-rs (aka ts-rust), my complete rewrite of the Typescript compiler, type checker, and LSP, all in Rust.
This is a project I've had agents working on for 5 months now. I burned ~$400k of Codex tokens and got nowhere. Burned ~$20k of Opus and got there in 2 weeks.
I have not read a single line of the code.
tsc-rs is an open source drop-in replacement for tsc, and it's available now.
fully wasm-ready 👀
Replying to @theo
Repo is here: github.com/pingdotgg/ts-rust
Full transparency: `bun check` also just dropped. Jarred shared numbers with me early. Incredibly impressive, and probably the right choice for most apps using Bun.
tsc-rs is only faster if you're using the Effect ts checks.
I like this implementation for other reasons, primarily:
- drop-in replacement for tsc
- 100% compatibility (bun errors places tsc-rs and ts7 don't)
- fully wasm-ready
- effect-ts mods built in
