Still don't know why this blew up so much. My random kinda autistic thought of appreciating patterns started jump scaring my FC mates as it was posted across discords and they saw my Boston Strong ginger elezen in the pfp
I was hoping that the flu that made me miss a Halloween party would be all over by my birthday, but no, it's still ruining my fun :(
Noticing two groups with regards to Dawntrail
1) Complaints that the first 2/3 set up a fun new setting and then abandoned it for cyberpunk Alexandria
2) Complaints that Alexandria was where the story picked up and it was boring until then
I do just think that both Tural and Alexandria suffered from shallow writing, with guided tours rather than interesting character-driven storylines that made better use of the Rite. Alexandria's regulators were a creative twist, but not one that felt fully realized
Is that actually a consideration that would reach the developers?
The idea of getting so upset about a canon relationship because it ruins your imagined headcanon self-ship(???) is so alien to me, and kinda anti-art, that I can't imagine it would be a roadblock, right?
There's complaints about the moral policing from "woke" people in FFXIV's community, but despite going against that grain sometimes, I have NEVER made more people angry at me on xivtwt before this post where I gently raise an eyebrow at attraction to a character who looks 14
I get the gist but this feels like a weird spot to land on
I love when the game carefully worldbuilds the setting. I just thought the actual world of Tural was broad but shallow relative to what we had before. The pacing was an issue but he had no comment about lack of tension?

It felt like Koana had nothing to do in the story because there were no problems arising from his outsider status and constant march for technological progress at the cost of tradition. He was quickly reduced to Wuk Lamat's big brother and nothing else, which felt less compelling
Yoshi P on, presumably, including characters/elements (like Gaia) in MSQ.
I don't quite get this logic once the content is done, and it also feels like you're limiting the main story in favor of the side stories?
Also surprised that it means the Twelve are just gone from MSQ
You'd think you could mine tons of narrative from a pantheon of twelve gods and how people relate to them. They still can, I guess, but you're just gonna have to not acknowledge that you know their nature and killed them...?
