To see the world at sunset, and still want all that daylight. To feel something, at once, that, you know you'll never get right.

If people were kind, they'd tell you the truth. They'd fail you, and love you, when you followed suit.

I often wonder if my great romance, is where I went, not who I had.
You were the smile I could always rely on. But fires burn out, and monkeys aren't lions.
Some people drink to avoid what they're wanting. I chase life with whiskey to signal my hunting.
If our sameness and my difference, ended up shipwrecked at sea, what might we lose and what should we keep?
You could go your whole life &never be loved quite enough. You could find a good beach, abandon your shoes, &let your feet get tough.

I'll say one more thing, before I have to leave: I knew precisely what to wear, to showcase this heart on my sleeve.
I was given a short period to live. So I took what I wanted, but I mostly would give.
I was told, "You'll be paid, soon enough." So I slept in my clothes, and packed all my stuff.
Moving to the woods to sit, in quiet. Began, for me, a lifelong riot.
Standing at the corner of all my hurting, I paused to find the perfect wording.
I asked the moon my biggest questions. It genuflected: "Dear, small rejections."
You'll lose the things you didn't tether, regret the storms you couldn't weather.
Things that I'd give up for you: (1) Nothing that you'd want me, too.
Finding happiness in truth, not tricks. So jokes deprive me of a fix.
i booked a ship and sailed 6 seas and never lost a shred of me. i found a friend, but should it end, ill need more sea to comfort me. – at Long Beach, CA
