What if Odin had Eitri make the gauntlet back when he was conquering worlds with Hela, but abandoned the plan when he changed his ways? Hela called it fake because it had no power without the Infinity Stones.
Maybe Thanos heard about Eitri through Odin’s gauntlet and went to Nidavellir to have his own made.

My wife started sleepwalking three weeks after we moved into our new house.
At first, it was harmless. I'd wake up and find her standing in the kitchen, staring out the window.
When I asked what she was doing, she'd blink and return to bed without saying a word.
Then one night, I woke up and found her standing beside our daughter's crib.
Our daughter was only four months old.
My wife was whispering something I couldn't understand.
I touched her shoulder.
She turned around, smiled, and said, “She's growing too fast.”
I laughed nervously.
“What do you mean?”
My wife looked down at the baby.
“She's supposed to stay this age until we finish.”
“Finish what?”
Her smile disappeared.
Then she looked directly at me.
“Building the replacement.”
The following morning, she remembered nothing.
I checked the baby monitor footage.
At 3:14 a.m., my wife had entered the nursery.
She stood beside the crib for eleven minutes.
Then she turned toward the camera and whispered:
“He doesn't know he's already been replaced.”

It could have easily fit the Destroyer. We never get a clear idea of how the Destroyer works in the films but in the comics, it's essentially a suit of armor for battling Celestials and able to wield Odin's oversized arsenal such as the Odinsword, a sword way too big for him to wield alone. Perhaps this Gauntlet was constructed with that concept in mind, that Odin would wield the Destroyer wearing a Gauntlet and whatever else is in that Vault.

Rewatching how easily Tony handles high-speed impacts here always makes me confused about Rhodey’s fall in Civil War.
Tony routinely freefalls from crazy heights, tackles bots at terminal velocity, and brushes off direct hits from Thor. Yet Rhodey, wearing a suit specifically built for heavy military artillery, takes one bad fall and loses his mobility.
Either Tony kept all the inertial dampening tech for himself, or the physics simply bent for the plot.
