CONGRATULATIONS State Rep-Elect Jesse St.Gelais! #mapoli
In an election cycle where Republicans nationwide suffered massive losses, Jesse St. Gelais flipped a Massachusetts State Representative seat in Westport, Fall River, Acushnet, New Bedford, and Freetown! Jesse worked hard every day to earn every vote. Well done, Jesse. The 8th Bristol district is going to be lucky to have you advocating for them on Beacon Hill! #8thbristol #elizabethdionne #dionneformassachusetts #dionne4mass

Politicians in Washington tried for decades to retire the A-10 Warthog attack jet, calling it too slow and outdated.
Then U.S. Air Force Captain Kim Campbell flew hers home from Baghdad with zero hydraulics, one damaged engine, and over one hundred and fifty shrapnel holes in the tail.
On April 7, 2003, American ground troops were pinned down under heavy fire in the middle of Baghdad. Twenty-seven-year-old Captain Campbell dove through thick clouds to deliver close air support with her thirty-millimeter cannon.
As she pulled up after saving the troops on the ground, an Iraqi surface-to-air missile exploded directly against the rear of her aircraft.
The blast severed both of her redundant hydraulic lines at the same time, punched a football-sized hole through the right tail stabilizer, and damaged her right jet engine. Instantly, the flight stick went dead. The nose of the aircraft rolled violently toward the streets of Baghdad below.
Why did she not pull the ejection handle?
Because ejecting over central Baghdad meant parachuting straight into the hands of hostile militia, and forcing dozens of American soldiers to risk their lives in an urban ambush just to rescue her.
Sitting inside the A-10's twelve-hundred-pound titanium armor tub, Campbell flipped a single emergency switch on her console called Manual Reversion.
That switch locked the flight stick directly to physical steel cables, pulleys, and cranks running through the wings. Flying an A-10 on steel cables is like steering a heavy dump truck with no power steering at three hundred miles per hour.
For one full hour across three hundred miles of hostile sky, Campbell hauled the heavy stick with both hands using sheer muscle power.
The hardest part was landing. Without hydraulics, she had no wing flaps to slow down, no speed brakes, and no nose-wheel steering. If she touched down and the tires blew, the jet would cartwheel in flames.
She brought the crippled Warthog down onto the runway at nearly two hundred miles per hour, fighting the rudder pedals with her legs until the battered aircraft rolled to a stop.
When her crew chief climbed the ladder and saw hundreds of holes in the aluminum skin, he could only shake his head in disbelief.
Never mock old American steel, and never bet against the pilot sitting inside it.

Spent a week in Portugal breaking every rule the NHS ever gave.
I ate eggs daily. I had steak. I ate local sardines, cheese and bacon. Nothing out of a packet with 47 ingredients. And I sat in the sun with no factor 50.
I slept like a baby and my nervous system had a full factory reset. No supplements, no app, just sun and real food.
Meanwhile the locals in their 80s were marching up hills I needed a sit-down after.
People talk about the Mediterranean diet like it's all vegetables and olive oil.
But the reality is grilled fish, pork, lamb, eggs, cheese, animal fat. And red wine. People walking everywhere, sitting in the sun, eating late and slowly with family, and having a nap when they felt like it. Nobody rushing, nobody grazing on "healthy snacks", nobody living on cortisol and a meal deal.
That's why they live longer. Not because someone drizzled oil on a lettuce leaf. It's the whole way they live, and you can't sell that in a bottle at the supermarket.

Major American television networks barely gave this story thirty seconds of airtime, because what happened at a graduation party in Charleston, West Virginia, did not fit their script.
On the evening of May 25, 2022, around forty neighbors, parents, and young children gathered outside an apartment complex in Charleston to celebrate a high school graduation and birthday party.
When thirty-seven-year-old Dennis Butler, a violent criminal with four prior felony convictions, sped his car down the street right past the playing children, parents politely asked him to slow down.
Thirty minutes later, Butler came back for revenge. He parked his car, pulled out a stolen AR-15-style rifle, and opened fire directly into the crowd of forty mothers and kids.
He never got to reload. Standing among the families was a law-abiding American woman with zero police or military background, carrying a legally concealed nine-millimeter pistol in her waistband.
While everyone else dove for the grass, she stood her ground, drew her handgun, and fired across the yard, fatally striking the gunman in seconds.
Not a single child or guest at that party was scratched. The next morning, Charleston Chief of Detectives Tony Hazelett told reporters that instead of a mass casualty tragedy, one brave woman saved dozens of American lives.

You can cancel an election and ban the winner from running (Romania), you can ban your opponents from ever running again (Hungary), you can threaten to ban the main opposition party and subject it to relentless investigations by the secret police (Germany), you can threaten a ban on the leading presidential candidate and make them wear an ankle monitor (France), every member of your circle can be investigated for corruption (Spain), you can try and cancel local elections because you will lose them (Britain), and you can storm the constitutional court with riot police because you want to control it (Poland).
You can just do all these things. The secret is you just have to be on the right side of the European Commission.

How can @MIT and President Kornbluth sit back and allow Kristin Knouse to remain on the MIT faculty when she has been found by a jury of her peers to have falsely accused him of rape, and intentionally destroyed his life and career with the help of co-conspirators in the MIT administration?
How does this not violate MIT’s code of conduct?
How can one continue to trust the research she produces?
Why has MIT not immediately launched a formal investigation to reconsider the removal of @DMSabatini’s tenure and Knouse’s continued inclusion on the faculty?
The evidence from the case is now in the public record. It is a straightforward process for MIT to review the facts.
Justice must be served.
