Abdul El-Sayed: “We are being actively bullied by the dumbest people in the room. Donald Trump is an idiot. He has one genius which is getting attention. Because his dad never gave him enough, because he was a nepo baby, he craved attention and used the bullying tactics to get it. But the man is an idiot. Just a fool”

This morning’s headlines would have read “Netanyahu soundly defeated” if only the Israeli opposition valued democracy more than ethnic supremacy.

Daniel Levy | Former Israeli Peace Negotiator | US/Middle East Project (@USMEP): Netanyahu did not alone commit genocide for 3 years. He did not alone maintain decades of illegal occupation. It was system-wide. Eisenkot was part of it & served in the military. He sat in the emergency unity security cabinet after Oct. 7 - during the genocide. Israeli generals, soldiers & judges - all part of a system-wide mobilization. Dissenting voices existed but remained marginal.

Today, you'll be flooded with Israeli propaganda about "we're a true democracy, not an apartheid" All of their talking points are copied from Apartheid South Africa's propaganda (watch👇) Apartheid South Africa's Tricameral Parliament was 42% colored & Indian in 1983, after the regime allowed 2.8 million colored & 850,000 Indian citizens to vote (while excluding 22.7 million black South Africans). Colored representatives even held ministerial positions, but without portfolios (i.e. no real power). This is just like Israel allowing 2 million Palestinian citizens to vote while excluding 6 million in the occupied territory & 8 million in exile. The less than 15% of Israel's Knesset that is Arab are excluded from power (both Netanyahu & the opposition parties refuse to form a government with Arab parties). Apartheid South Africa had black policemen, soldiers, engineers, doctors, & professors whom they loved to show in propaganda videos to claim "we're a cosmopolitan society". But that was only a fig leaf to hide the disenfranchisement of the overwhelming majority of blacks. Apartheid South Africa also claimed a God-given right to the land. They also screamed "we're facing an existential threat" & are "surrounded by enemies who want to destroy us". They also bragged "we're the only democracy in Africa", "we have Western values", "we're the only industrialized state in Africa", "we're one of the 20 most developed states on earth"... It was still an Apartheid! Don't fall for Israel's recycled apartheid propaganda!

There hasn’t been an active nuclear weapons program in 🇮🇷 since 2003, as confirmed by all Western intelligence agencies, but now Netanyahu is trying to scare the voters in Israel 🇮🇱 with images of a nuclear attack against Tel Aviv. He seeks a mandate for renewed war. cdn.i24news.tv/uploads/4f/e5…

Imagine if in 1943 FDR had decided that the US would stop helping Britain and instead would side with the Third Reich. That's a bit like what President Trump is now doing by cozying up to Russia as it tries to destroy Ukraine. Utterly shameful. A humiliating moment for the US.

We now hear that 🇺🇸 and 🇷🇺 are also discussing joint data centers. Good luck with that. Europe will certainly not join in. Not difficult to know which interests in 🇷🇺 that will be jubilant over this.

Hard-On for Putin, Tough on Ukraine Look at the graphic above and read down each column. On the left is how the Trump administration has treated Vladimir Putin, the man who launched the largest war in Europe since 1945. On the right is how it has treated Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the duly-elected leader of the democratic country Putin invaded. Hold the two side by side and the pattern is obvious. The aggressor gets stroked. The victim gets ultimatums and threats. This week highlights the pattern. Trump strokes villainy and abuses our allies. substack.com/@avindman/note/…

Either this is true, which would be a terrible sign that the President is not in control of his own Pentagon, or it's false, in which case the President is lying about a crucial national security issue for some reason.
Q: If it wasn't you, then who gave the order for Starlink to go down in Ukraine? TRUMP: I don't know

What was Zelenskyy's misstep? Criticizing our president who, by turning off Starshield, is actively helping Putin kill Ukrainian civilians as a strategy to pressure Zelenskyy to stop fighting the Russians because, allegedly, that will help lower diesel prices? That's not a misstep; that's leadership. The world is getting tired of our friendly-advice lectures on how to delicately deal with crazy Uncle Trump. And the pattern is clear. Those who push back on Trump's irrational ideas fare better in the long run than those who try to appease him. Xi figured that out. Carney figured that out. Machado tried the opposite, and it didn't work out too well for her.
zelenskyy has exhibited extraordinary restraint in his (public and private) diplomacy w trump ever since the white house blow up in april ‘25. this week was a misstep. understandable given the strain he’s under and trump’s desire to rebuild relations with putin. less consequential given ukraine’s more limited reliance on the americans. but a misstep nonetheless…and one the europeans are now trying hard to remedy.

Sudden restrictions on Starlink use seem designed to create problems for 🇺🇦, and are in all probability linked to present tensions with 🇺🇸. European countries are wise to take note and intensify efforts to avoid undue reliance on 🇺🇸 systems.
NEW: Ukrainian troops have been caught off guard by restrictions on Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet systems that disrupted frontline operations, as Kyiv received no advance warning from its partners of a Russian missile attack on its energy facilities for the second day running, Ukrainian officials and troops tell @FT. ft.com/content/37085602-726a…

This is dark shit. Blaming Zelenskyy for world oil price rises when it's Trump's mindless Iran war that caused it.
Trump: Zelenskyy wants to make problems for the world and our farmers. He better damn well stop.

It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel. If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.
