(1/2) Hi @wearerienergy. Our electricity was terminated today without warning even though we have been faithfully paying for service for…ever. Because of a clerical error on your end of applying our payments to the wrong meter/account. This was discovered around 5:00 PM, and…

we were told service would be restored “today.” It’s been 5 hours and we’re still without power. It’s July, there’s an air quality alert in effect, and I’m 30 weeks pregnant (+ have a toddler). All new groceries in the fridge/freezer lost. “Unacceptable” is not really the word…

This. I also took Friday off for an extra day and didn’t leave the house all weekend to start potty training. Work feels like a vacation today. 🫠

Underrated Spotify feature for parents of small children: the ability to search for playlists about literally anything. Easter Bunny songs? Songs about fish (and very specifically fish, NOT whales)? A compilation of every version of Muffin Man ever made? Spotify’s got ‘em

Was there even one person who had a baby/was postpartum in 2020 included in the study? Asking for a friend. 🙋🏻‍♀️
Mental-health crisis from pandemic was minimal, study suggests bbc.in/3ZA0EHd
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
From the article & authors of study- “The review did not look at lower-income countries, or specifically focus on children, young people & those with existing problems, the groups most likely affected, experts say, and risks hiding important effects among disadvantaged groups.“

My 2.5yo is currently playing a game where she goes to “wert” (work). She just sighed and loudly announced, “I’m doing some e-mails.” I’m not sure whether to be proud or horrified 🤦🏻‍♀️ #futurecorporategirly

NH has lost a giant. So grateful to have worked with and learned from Judy for a short time, and to have shared lots of grocery store cakes with her (as she would supply them on every staffer’s birthday). A fearless leader and a true public servant. 💚
Few people have had an impact on my life, personally & professionally, as much as Judy Reardon. From the NH State Senate, to the Governor’s office and to the U.S. Senate, Judy filled numerous roles on my staff. But most importantly, she was my confidante & dear friend.

No one prepared me for what it feels like the very first time your toddler responds, “I love you too, Mama” unprompted. 🥹😭🫠

Hello. Young kids back in school are so sick right now. Everyone with a preschooler has an entire household of sleepless viral cough snot fevers for the past two months without a fucking break. So if you know a parent going through this, be kind and gently hit them with your car.

Just sat down to eat my lunch and make my voting plan. If you’ll vote in-person, do you know where your polling place is? Its hours? What the local questions on your ballot are? #RIvoters: vote.sos.ri.gov/Home/
Enjoying our @Cumberlib craft of the week! 🍂

“…Within this scenario, flexible work feels less like a perk and more like an incredibly depressing concession—the only way for companies to try to hang on to their female employees.”
For @bloomberg, I spent a lot of time talking to women about the realities of their WFH/flex arrangements — which most people are pretty happy with! — but that society is still set up in a way that forces them to become one-woman safety nets: bloomberg.com/news/features/…
I could watch the Track & Field World Championships for…a long time. Hurdles? Majestic. Pole vault? Incredible. Discus? Inject it into my veins.
