Trump has openly said that he admires Putin, and that he wants the kind of generals that Hitler had. His own staff have described him as a fascist dictator. If he wins and is in charge of the US military, and goes all out Putin/Hitler, how do we stop him? Go vote!

I'm now mainly on ☁️🔵 instead of here. I'm just keeping this around for now so that I can find people I follow over there - thanks to Sky Follower Bridge - and so people can find me. But don't expect much more than that. I'd not realised just how bad it was here until now...

Interesting #Maths problem that I don't know how to answer. What's the *weakest* hand in Texas Hold 'em poker that, based only on your hole cards, flop, turn and river, is 100% guaranteed to win? If there's any chance of a draw or loss, no matter how slim, it doesn't count.

You can arrange the visible cards in any way you need to make this work. For example - a royal flush is a guaranteed win, but it's the strongest hand. A single pair can always be beaten - someone can get trips or two pair - so doesn't count.

I *think* the answer is: Hole cards - QQ Table cards - 2378Q of 4 suits So you've got trip queens, and there's no possible higher trips, straight, flush or higher. But is there a weaker setup? And then as a follow up question - how does this change with fewer visible cards?

Ok - I'm trying to be more active on Bluesky again. I already follow a number of people there from over here, but who else is worth following? Either yourselves or people you'd recommend 🙂

I'm intrigued. How many people are building UI E2E tests for your projects? API tests? How many people are doing proper i18n? Including RTL support? Caring about accessibility? Responsive design? What about CI/CD? Unit testing? Code linting?

Over the years I've watched several shows in their entirety all the way through. Including Stargate (SG1, Atlantis, Universe), BSG (+ Caprica), Farscape, Buffy/Angel, B5, and others. I'm now about half way through Charmed. And I'm getting an itching to do Star Trek next!

I realise this is likely a bad idea. Stargate took me a couple of years, and is 354 episodes. TNG, DS9 and Voyager alone come to 526 episodes, and I have less time to watch them these days!... But I still want to do it!

Are... Are Twitter advertising Bluesky on their own official account? They can't be, surely?

I'm surprised none of the energy companies have done unlimited tariffs, like mobile phones do. Say £150/mo regardless of the amount you use. I'm sure they'd get a lot more customers just from the consistency/peace of mind aspect...

I've now objected 3 times to @Meta using my data for training their AI. Every time they say that they have registered my objection and won't use my data, but then I've had another email a few hours later about the same thing...

I'm not sure if this is another American/British thing, but I didn't get a single one of today's #Strands. And even after getting the Spangram, most - though, I'll admit, not all - of the words still make no sense to me!

I'm doing it at long last. I'll admit that the size of this book is quite intimidating but given everything I've heard of it I've been looking forward to it...

I'll admit, I've not done any professional sysadmin work in nearly 20 years, but... Surely the overlap of machines running CUPS and machines accessible from the internet should be zero?

So, this is fun. @Rust nightly has started giving me conflicting #Clippy warnings... If the very last statement of my main method has a semicolon, I get one lint error. If I remove the semicolon, I get a different lint error on the same line!
