The biggest talking point I’ve heard in the AZ governor’s race is that Andy Biggs “protects pedophiles.” Meanwhile, Katie Hobbs vetoed three bills expanding sex offender school notifications (SB1253), sex offender registration (SB1583), and restrictions on early release from lifetime probation for sex offenders (SB1155).

I live in Gilbert, Arizona. Over the past several weeks, I’ve driven through nearly every city and town in Maricopa County. I have yet to see a single Katie Hobbs sign.

What I have seen are plenty of “news” stories and “polling data” telling us Hobbs is going to win, along with a lot of name calling and rhetoric about pedophilia. From where I sit, it seems like Hobbs is running a campaign built around calling Biggs a pedophile protector and controlling the media and polling narrative.

Mortgage rates right now are not high. They are historically average. We need to get away from thinking artificially low mortgage rates that followed a once in an ever collapse in housing and remained through a once in a life time pandemic are normal.

And just like that ND will be ranked ahead of BYU again.

An estimated 1.5 million Christians in Arizona did not vote in the 2022 governor’s election. That election was decided by 17,117 votes.

He has been saying “real estate crash” for over 3 years now. He has been wrong each time. Predicting a real estate crash without proper data gets clicks and doesn’t require accountability. It lacks integrity.
Just like in early 2008, most are oblivious to the obvious signs of a real estate crash. Only this time the losses for lenders will be bigger, as not only will they lose hundreds of billions on the mortgages that default, but they've already lost trillions on the ones that don't.

In honor of the BYU (Mormons) vs Notre Dame (Catholics) match-up today, let me remind everyone of some important, essential truths: - The Bible is the Word of God, consisting of 66 books, is our only rule for faith and practice, & infallible. - We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ ALONE - The Trinity is essential Christian doctrine. True Christians believe in one God, who is three Persons (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit) - Jesus is our only mediator - Jesus’ sacrifice was perfect & sufficient. No works we do can earn salvation. - Jesus was crucified, died, and rose from the dead three days later, as was prophesied. - God always existed & will always exist - After death, we either go to Heaven or Hell based whether or not we had faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. - No human has, can or will become a god.

Sometimes I feel like an unworthy parent. Like my children are far better than I deserve. That hit yet again last night at Cambria’s volleyball senior night. She is blessed with length, athleticism, and aggressiveness. As a result, she is one of the best athletes for any track or gym she walks in to. While that’s fun, and we are proud of it, that’s not why Jodie and I feel unworthy. Cambria has an exceptional combination of competitive edge and kindness. The Lord has given her the fruits of His Spirit and she loves others well. The hugs, kind words, notes written, and so much more were reigned down on our daughter last night. Not focused on athletic accomplishments, but on how she makes people feel. The impact she has on others. And who she is and the woman she is becoming is so far removed from any parenting Jodie and I have done. Again, she is more than we deserve. A lot of it has been the people that have rallied around her and poured into her. There were countless friends and family there to support her last night. A lot more than I expected. Past team mates and coaches, family members, church leaders, friends from other teams, young children she has poured into, and adults that have known her since she was born. All of them have been used by the Lord to help shape her into who she has become and who she is becoming. What a blessing! We love her dearly. We are thankful for those that have loved her. She is a blessing far beyond words. Thank the Lord for His grace and love!

I’ve discovered an easy way to get engagement on X. Just say something remotely positive about Tesla or Elon Musk. You don’t even have to be positive. Just hint at it, and strangers from around the world can’t help themselves from flooding your comments with negativity. It’s a dopamine hit for them that they can’t resist.

The best part about this is that I’m responding to comments on this post as my cybertruck drives me and my family over 60 miles across town autonomously.
Anyone complaining that the Tesla Roadster doesn’t solve any real-world problems probably hasn’t solved many themselves and doesn’t understand how solving problems on a large scale actually works.

Some people see life as a pie with only so many slices. If someone is innovating in one area, they assume it must come at someone else’s expense. They don’t understand that wealth and innovation can grow the pie.

The same folks complaining about this probably complained about the finances and effort put into self driving cars. Yes Tesla FSD is now statistically safer than human drivers and car accidents have been one of the nation’s leading causes of death.

My stepdad’s sister-in-law is Sine Kerr, who is running alongside Andy Biggs. I made a simple Facebook post saying something like, “It’s not every day you get to vote for a family member. Go Aunt Sine!” That was it. And somehow, strangers in the comments repeatedly called me a pedophile and a Nazi. We are living in a crazy political environment right now.
I’ve run for office many times, but I’ve never witnessed the level of false accusations and threats of violence we’re seeing this election. Every major law enforcement organization has endorsed me because I’ve spent years working to protect children and our state. My wife was born in Mexico. Political violence and threats have no place in our state. There must be accountability.

Lately I have been thinking about friendship tenure. The length of time you have known your friends. I’m not just talking about people you call “friend”. I’m talking about the people you spend the most time with. The people you do life with. As I have been thinking on this I have had a heart of gratitude. Many of my closest friends are people I have known for over 20 years. And for that I am so thankful. They are people that know me well. Really well. And I know them well. People that I have had conflict with. People I have hurt and who have hurt me. People that have been there for me through the highest and lowest parts of life. People that have helped me be a better husband, father, and man of God. It’s awesome! One of the reasons I am thankful is because I know how rare this can be. So many people are lucky to have friends beyond 5 years let alone 20 or 30. Lots of folks for one reason or another bounce around from group to group. A lot of people are constantly in search of the ever illusive “community”. So why am I writing about it? To encourage you. If you are reading this and you have long tenured friends, praise God! And let those friends know how awesome they are. If you are reading this and you don’t have that tenure yet, keep on keepin on. Long tenured meaningful friendships are one of life’s greatest blessings.

Financial advice for single parents that feel like they are behind. It starts with creating margin. Then making the best use of it.

It is important to be wise with the amount of money you use for down payment when you purchase a home. You should not completely deplete your reserves. And you should not always put more money down because it does not always mean a better rate/loan.

How much should a mortgage payment be? What percentage of your income is best? My answer: Make sure your mortgage payment allows for personal financial MARGIN so that you are able to make regular deposits into savings and investment accounts.
