Our family is heartbroken by the loss of my dear niece Kyle Francis Kennedy. A bright light and gentle spirit, Kyle was a committed educator and devoted mother to Conor and Declan. Our hearts are with her children, her mother Vicki, her brother Michael and sister Rory. Kyle was the daughter of my beloved late brother Michael and Vicki Gifford Kennedy. May she rest in eternal peace among the angels with her father and daughter Josephine. We love and miss you, Kyle.

Lindsey Graham on Joe Biden (2015):
“If you can't admire Joe Biden as a person, you got a problem because what's not to like? He's the nicest person I think I've ever met in politics. He is as good a man as God ever created."
Jill and I are shocked by the sudden passing of Lindsey Graham.
Lindsey and I served together in Congress for over a decade, and worked closely on many issues throughout the years. We traveled the world together as members of the Senate Foreign Relations committee. We disagreed often, and sometimes loudly.
Lindsey and I did agree on the profound importance of public service. Like me, he loved the Senate as an institution, even with all its flaws and complexities.
To his family, his staff, his constituents in South Carolina, and everyone who loved him: Jill and I are keeping you in our prayers.

Happy 80th birthday to my friend George W. Bush!
Your friendship—and that of your father and your entire family—has been one of the great gifts of my life. It has always reminded me that long before we’re politicians, we’re fellow Americans and, above all, human beings.
And for the next month, I’m especially grateful to finally have someone older than me! Wishing you many more years of good health, happiness, and friendship.
Our country is stronger when we remember that what unites us is greater than what divides us.

I got a little teary-eyed tonight thinking about my mother-in-law, Marian Robinson.

Honestly trying to make sense of this:
Covid was just a cold & we overreacted & the public shouldn’t trust public health warnings or advice…
But Covid (the thing they warned us about) causes a “debilitating”chronic syndrome that is impacting my son, and I’m angry we’ve under-reacted to it…
🤔
RFK Jr. says Long COVID has directly impacted his son and made it a personal priority.
“I have a son who really was debilitated by long COVID.”
“We’ve had roundtables at HHS for the first time in history.”
“We brought in the best experts from around the country.”
“There is no panacea.”
“But there are biomarkers that can tell us what kind of treatments work best.”
“We’re working on identifying those biomarkers… and getting patients together with the appropriate physician.”

🚨 BREAKING: The US Senate has just PASSED legislation that BANS members of Congress from getting fast-tracked through TSA security
GOOD! NO MORE special bypasses, ESPECIALLY when Senate Dems can't even keep DHS open and TSA paid! Make this the law 🇺🇸
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The US Senate has not passed this legislation. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) introduced S. 4123 on March 18, 2026, to end special TSA screening for members of Congress using public funds. It has not been voted on or passed.

The revelations about Cesar Chavez are monstrous and profoundly disturbing. Our hearts are with the survivors of his abuse and it is vital that their voices are heard, their bravery lauded, and their pain acknowledged.

Joe Rogan on President Trump and the Iran War:
"It just seems so insane based on what he ran on. This is why a lot of people feel betrayed. He ran on no more wars and these stupid, senseless wars. And then we have one that we can't even really clearly define why we did it."

Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say “Send me” wherever we have a chance to make an impact.
How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.

As today’s confirmation hearing for Surgeon General unfolds, one principle should guide the committee’s deliberations: Qualifications matter - or they don’t. 🤷🏽♂️
The Surgeon General MUST have the training, experience, and credibility to lead in a public health crisis. I laid out why that standard is essential here:

And every year, the suicide rate increases.

Several contradictory things are simultaneously true:
1. Maduro was an oppressive, unpopular and illegitimate ruler, disastrous for his country and the region.
2. Using the US to remove him may have been equally illegitimate.
3. Venezuela would be better off with a new government under the opposition's Edmundo Gonzalez (who probably won the presidential election but is now exiled).
4. It's not clear that Maduro will be replaced by Gonzalez. Maduro's VP is still apparently in power, as are other regime figures and the Cubans who back them.
5. As we've seen in Iraq and Libya, it can be easier to topple a leader than to establish a new government; sometimes you get a worse leader, or Somalia-style chaos.

I loved Michele and Rob Reiner. They were among my closest friends. We raised our kids together, from mommy and me on up. We laughed together, we cried together, we played together, we dreamed together. We had dinner this past week, and they were in the best place in the their lives: loving one another, loving their friends, their family, their country. They never gave up on our country. They wanted to make it better. They always, always wanted to make our world better, and they were willing to fight to make it the country they loved.
I loved them, and I knew they loved me, for any friend like that is such a gift. They gave me and all their friends that gift all the time. They loved their kids so much, and they never stopped trying to be really good parents. My love is with their family. I’m so sad for them. I’m devastated, gutted, shocked, stunned, and so deeply saddened, as are all of the people who loved them and who they loved. I hope people remember them as two deeply talented, kind, fun, loving, good, patriotic people who loved each other deeply.
I’ll miss you, Michele. I’ll miss you, Rob. I love you both. Thank you for your friendship. God bless you both. Life will not be the same without you here, that’s for sure. ♥️

Rob Reiner and his wife were tragically killed at the hands of their own son, who reportedly had drug addiction and other issues, and their remaining children are left in serious mourning and heartbreak.
This is a family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies.
Many families deal with a family member with drug addiction and mental health issues. It’s incredibly difficult and should be met with empathy especially when it ends in murder.
