Always nice to see it in print. Thank you @MinotaurBooks for believing in me and breathing life into Porter Beck and his merry band. And so great to see @Janet_Reid mentioned here, my agent, who passed recently. #thebitterpast #shadesofmercy

Today, I'm trying to boost the signal of my second August Snow thriller LIVES LAID AWAY. Why? Because I still love the story and its pertinence several years after pub. "Love" maybe ain't the word. Passion, maybe? Either way, check it out and let me know, n'k?

Name two upcoming books you’re most excited for. Tender is the Flesh is an amazing novel. I’m down for anything Agustina Bazterrica has to offer. And, of course, Mother Howl. Do I have to explain why? It’s @CraigClevenger. Need I say more? #writingcommunity #readingcommunity

Well, kids--it's time to put myself on blast. One of the hardest things a writer, or for that matter ANY artist, can do is promote themself. It seems self-indulgent, almost narcissistic. But it's not. It's a declaration of the pride we have in our efforts. Here's MY declaration.

I don't usually give unsolicited writing advice but I have an important message for all writers: Don't ignore that tickling feeling at the back of your neck. It's a spider
