Can’t see why any media would begrudge the rise of intelligent, articulate independents in our political system. More voices, better debate, less mindless spruiking of the party line seems, to me, a good thing for our democracy & those paid to report on it.

Interesting feedback on this. As an 80s kid, I’d call mates’ parents Mr/Mrs until invited to do otherwise. My kids’ mates have never called me MrD. Times have changed. Experts still have their credibility acknowledged & many inconsistencies get ironed out.
