Think fleeing saves you? Think again. 🛑 A poacher in Zygi, #Cyprus was caught TWICE in 3 weeks, racking up €18,500+ in fines for illegal mist netting. Big penalties are crucial to ending the illegal bird trapping for good!

🚨 Action update from the front lines! 🇮🇹 Three weeks into our autumn bird protection camp in Brescia, CABS volunteers have helped police catch 25 poachers. In the latest case we removed 108 illegal snap traps near Valcamonica, and rescue 8 robins! 🌿🕊️

So utterly depressing, hedgehogs are hurtling towards extinction on OUR watch, and only a few wildlife lovers care... paved gardens, plastic 'lawns', chopped down trees & hedges.. having a lifeless, no effort to manage, outdoor space is all that matters to the lazy & selfish..😒
Britain had about 30 million hedgehogs in the 1950s; we've got under 875,000 today. The population has dropped by about 97%. Shocking.

Huge victory for wildlife in Lebanon! 🚨 Our teams have dismantled over 63,000 m² of illegal bird nets this autumn, saving an estimated 60,000 migratory birds as a result. 200+ birds rescued + 165 mist-nets dismantled on our latest mission alone! Huge thanks to @LebISF 🫡 🕊️

Low flying boats! These images show the Royal New Zealand Air Force putting on a 'spirited display' in the early 1960s. I'm away on vacation in rural Yorkshire today, in an area with poor internet, so my daily posts may not happen.🥹

We need to make old-school heavy-handed policing a thing again. I want to see the police destroying these twats, instead of running away from them.

There’s something faintly ridiculous about a country that bans incest pornography whilst not banning cousin marriage. Or a country that will send people to prison for two years for possessing said porn, but push violent offenders out of prison early to make space for them.

Thames Water is due to run out of money (again) over the next few weeks. A year and a half ago it was given a £3 billion bailout now it's asking for another £2.4 billion. We really are being taken for mugs. theguardian.com/business/202…

Every dog lover should get to experience this… 🐕 Every morning at 6am I get to feed 80 street dogs. 🥘 We actually cook food for 1300 street dogs daily. It looks like the highlight of their day but it also the best part of my day ❤️

I want to thank Yarmouth Greyhound Homefinders for taking the time to let me meet some of the dogs yesterday. My salary donation will feed their greyhounds for several months whilst they wait for a new home. A really impressive charity who look after these charming animals. If you're looking to adopt a greyhound, I fully recommend getting in touch with their team.

I hope he gets tortured, raped, and left to die in his prison cell but only after months of daily torture...
He threw a puppy into a fire on Facebook Live. Then he kicked it back in when it tried to crawl out. December 18, 2024. Orangeburg, South Carolina. Deputies got the video the same day and found the dead puppy in the woods nearby. Desmond Levon Brown, 30, pleaded guilty under the federal PACT Act. Today a Columbia judge gave him 5 years in prison and 3 years supervised release. First PACT Act case the U.S. Attorney in South Carolina has ever prosecuted. Max was 7. U.S. Attorney Bryan Stirling called it heinous. Five years out of seven. You tell me if that matches what he did to that puppy. H/t: U.S. Attorney's Office SC / WACH

My MP salary donation this month is going to Yarmouth Greyhound Homefinders - helping dogs from the racing find a proper home once their competitive running days are over. Caring for the dogs, and then linking them up with a loving family. A great cause - I'm chuffed to help.
