As a teenage birder in Frodsham over 40 years ago, I would travel for an hour to see Marsh Harrier. Things change and this year we have had at least three nests within the Frodsham hinterland, one failed and two successfully fledging three young between them.
Why do people say ‘you couldn’t make it up’. I make shit up all the time and often more elaborate than the stuff they are referring to.
I wonder what Sir David Amess, a tory with an unrivalled reputation for wildlife protection and conservation would have thought about those with so little grasp of environmental issues releasing balloons in his honour today - let’s hope none end up in the gut of a marine mammal

Aviemore Coylumbridge Hotel sent this letter to staff today. Not just fired but chucked out of their accommodation with no notice and no redundancy pay! @BritanniaLtd Britannia Hotels should be ashamed of themselves. Certainly no "room at the inn" here, disgusting.
