First time seeing a 911 Sport Classic. This one in Gulf Blue on cognac Heritage Design Package Classic interior. #porsche

Believe it or not, this is not a hospital, university dormitory, or prison. It’s an actual Ritz-Carlton resort hotel.

Currently on our first international trip since March, 2020. Surprise: the world is still out there, and all the great things we love about travel are still true; it’s just a little more work to be able to experience them. Also, I’m loving our JDM Suzuki Swift rental.

Playing flight delay bingo today. So far, have had delays due to 1. Late incoming a/c; 2. Air show practice closing the field; 3. T-storms; 4. Passenger wth no boarding pass. Not flying for a few months there wasn’t all bad.

At YHZ for a 5.45 am flight. Two Americans sitting behind me discussing how there isn’t a hotel room or rental car to be had in Halifax right now. Welcome, tourists. I think.
At Montreal airport watching an irate would-be passenger get hauled away by six cops. Applause from the remaining dozens in the customer service line as she’s marched off. #travel2021
Contacted local dealership asking about lead time on a factory order. Response: “I would not want to speculate on how long it would take to get any specific model.” Wow. With an answer like that, I’ll be right in with my deposit.
Rental car rates are currently insane. By booking a month in advance, I got a “great” rate on a compact, only $465/wk. Booked today, it’s $750. #thestateoftravel
Sitting way in the back of a half-empty A220 with all the people who want to maximize their personal space. I just want to be able to recline w/o guilt.
Walked right up to the gate and on to the plane just as they were calling my zone. If only I could have that kind of luck with red lights.
Drove a Taycan over to Porsche of London and found this gorgeous Turbo in the showroom, already sold. How times have changed.
I don’t usually do these, but very happy to share a #wingletwednesday photo from @AirCanada AC611 today. Beautiful weather over Nova Scotia’s Cape Blomidon and the Annapolis Valley near Wolfville.
At the airport for my first flight in 11 months and… the computers are down at the gate, so there may be a delay. Glad some things never change.
You never really realize how many 987 Boxsters there still are around until you get a nice, sunny, warm-but-not-too-warm day.
My @AirCanada app actually shows multiple bookings in it again, for the first time since late last summer. Very, very thankful to have received my second vaccine dose already and very, very, VERY ready to travel.
Watching Porsche Canada live presentation on new 911 GT3. Arrives late summer. You can get it with a stick. Your choice of 115 colours through Porsche Exclusiv. It’s a good summer to dream.
Got vaxxed. The most surprising thing about the mass vaccination clinic I went to: how much hand sanitizer they’re going through. It must be delivered by tanker truck. Anyway: thanks, science!

Booked vaccine appts today. We wanted to book ASAP for our age group. Demand would be high, and I had planned to be at home, calmly using two iPads to make sure we could snag back-to-back time slots. So, naturally I was in a store looking at deli meat when word came down. 🤬
Spotted a Ferrari 488 and a mid-‘80s Honda CRX Si on the road today and I think I was more impressed by the Honda.

Waxing the car on a sunny, warm January day and feeling like I’m getting away with something illicit here.
