I would like to see research that studies people’s attitudes toward the different forms that density takes. Both these scenarios have the same density (22,400m2 or 241,000 sq ft). The courtyard scenario offers more private outdoor space, more economic diversity (building mass can be broken into more buildings with different ownership types), more street edge, more ground floor, more penthouse, more family-friendly units … The tower scenario has a smaller building footprint.
