Check out our RSI data transparency tracker! Current scores: OAI (2/8), Ant (1.5/8), GDM (0.5/8) Hoping the labs will hill-climb this as fast as they have every other benchmark :) This is based on our recent econ of RSI paper @ElasticityInst 1/2
[1/5] The 8 most valuable data points labs should share to help measure RSI: First, RSI would likely accelerate growth in AI capabilities. Thus, companies should report performance on diverse benchmarks for the latest internally deployed models.

At last, Haiti has some hope. Aggressive policing is weakening gangsters' control. THE KIDNAPPING was to take place in the busy middle-class neighbourhood of Delmas in Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital. #haiti

Today, the brutal Murillo–Ortega dictatorship “celebrates” 19 years since what was meant to be a 5-year democratic term. Nicaraguans voted for a president in 2006, not a lifetime of an illegitimate dynasty. Rewriting the constitution and crushing dissent won’t erase Nicaraguans’ aspirations to live free from tyranny.

“Sure, Cuba is in crisis,” says Yenier Romero, a 42-year-old barber who left the island in 2022, as he snips clients’ hair in Miami’s Little Havana district. “But all they ever taught us was how to survive on nothing.” economist.com/the-americas/2…

My column on Venezuela in @TheEconomist “Prosperity does not come from oil, decrees or even benevolent rulers. It comes from rights. Rights create private property. Rights create security. Rights create debate. Rights allow people to invest, to innovate, to dream—and to transform reality. Take rights away, and society withers. Restore them, and recovery is possible.” economist.com/by-invitation/…

Thanks to Trump's pressure on Venezuela and Colombia, many leaders may stay away from the Santa Marta summit between the EU and Lat Am. Despite the difficulties it is a relationship worth deepening, as the Mercosur trade deal shows. My analysis: economist.com/the-americas/2…
