Not one time had I had the thought that crying should get me better grades, better things or the attention I'd want. I nearly hated when people would take it upon themselves to calm me down because it would only make me cry harder because I'd feel only more embarrassed

the thing abt “men aren’t allowed to cry” is that women aren’t really allowed to either. women get mocked and berated for crying, and their momentary tears are used to justify their exclusion from “serious” workplaces, environments and activities
