"I wouldn't miss it for anything. You pencil this in first as a tournament you're going to play every year. Hear from Pádraig Harrington ahead of his record-breaking appearances at his National Open 🇮🇪 "I'm shocked. I thought 31 was the record in Ireland and they just told me it's the record, full stop at National opens. I'm delighted I've done it. I started so late, and to do 31 years solid, to still feel like I can go out there and compete and play is nice. "Took me a long time to get comfortable playing in [Amgen] Irish Open. The pressure, the stress from Monday morning all the way through it used to build and I didn't deal with it very well. Coming around 2006, 2007, I started to get a bit of perspective on that and definitely winning your national open is like winning the fifth major for every player. "Even if I fell over here, they clapped for me and enjoyed the fact that I was here. I don't have to go out there and shoot 64 to make them happy. They're happy to see me no matter what I'm doing on the golf course, no matter how I'm playing. And that helped a lot. That put it in perspective that they weren't here expecting me to shoot the lights out there, just here to watch me play and enjoy the game. And, you know, not being conceited or cocky, but they'll love me regardless...I think." #AmegnIrishOpen
