The first photo explains my obsession with "earning" things in an "authentic" way. 🤣🤣 The second photo is a prophesy clearly showing me the folly of my way/thinking. I'm reporting this article to Jack for targeted harassment 👍🏽

Toward the end of this career, despite past successes, he couldn't get a film off the ground no matter what he tried. Frustrated, he went to see Spielberg, who was still upcoming, for a shot at directing again. Any shot. He just needed a win.

Why is MoonRise Kingdom so good?! Rewatched it on Wednesday and it still holds up to how I felt when I saw it at 17. Such a perfectly made movie. God. Colours, awkwardness, pov shots, dialogue, dry wit, warmth, music, lightness. Ugh.

As a newcomer/immigrant, time is both your greatest ally and your most unforgiving taskmaster. You need enough of it to build a new life from scratch, but every day without (your desired) progress comes with the sinking feeling that you're falling behind.

“All great events hang by a single thread. The clever man takes advantage of everything, neglects nothing that may give him some added opportunity; the less clever man, by neglecting one thing, sometimes misses everything.” - Napoleon, but also super relevant to Seinfeld.

Incredible, incredible market attunement.

Eternal vigilance is the name of the game because the true opponent is entropy.

You'd play the game of life differently if you realized your real opponent is entropy, not other people.

And when you defeat all your (perceived) external enemies, you must then return home to face the final boss: yourself. Sobering.

"You can't expect yourself to operate at a "level 7-10" wisdom with "level 1-3" experience"
You genuinely have to accept that you did the best you could at the time. "If only I didn't screw up" honestly you would've been screwed anyway "I should've sold it, sent it, did it" yeah but there was a reason you didn't. You were a huge idiot but dude you were supposed to be. You've never been in that situation before. You can't expect yourself to operate at a "level 7-10" wisdom with "level 1-3" experience That's exactly how this life thing works. You fuck up, recover, fuck up a little less than before, then recover a little more than before, and you perpetually repeat that cycle until the lessons learned finally match the outcomes achieved Have to put the what if's to rest. Have to give yourself grace. Have to tell yourself that you can't regret something when everything is always meant to happen for your own benefit. Toughest part of being human but promise it will make sense one day. Never throw in the towel before that day comes

Reminder that everyone has a right to participate in this weird, squishy thing called life, and it's not reserved for specific types of people. Ensure you live!
