Knowing what to do in a cardiac arrest can make a lifesaving difference.
During Resus Annie on Tour, we've been speaking to members of the public about how confident they would feel stepping forward in an emergency.
If someone collapses and is unresponsive, call 999 immediately. The call handler will guide you through what to do, including how to assess for signs of life, perform CPR, and find the nearest defibrillator.

So many people have contacted CRY wondering if there are others they could talk to who have suffered similarly.
CRY has a network of Bereavement Supporters who have themselves been affected by a young sudden cardiac death. They have completed a two-year counselling course so that they can offer support, over the telephone, to others.
If you would like to speak about bereavement support or would like advice about expert pathology or cardiology, please contact CRY’s support team on 01737 363222 or email [email protected].

CRY was delighted to be invited to the roundtable discussion chaired by Amanda Hack MP in Westminster this week, which recognised the importance of CPR and defibrillation alongside proactive approaches such as symptom awareness, screening young people for potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions, and ensuring appropriate care and support for cardiac arrest survivors and their families. CRY’s cardiac screening programme for 14 to 35-year-olds plays a vital role in identifying potentially life-threatening conditions, alongside improved access to AEDs and greater training and education in CPR. These are all crucial components of a National Strategy for the Prevention of #YSCD. We welcomed the opportunity to contribute to this important discussion alongside so many outstanding charities and groups, including our partnership with the Heart of West London, whose work is helping to prevent deaths and improve outcomes for those affected by heart conditions.

Discontinuation of digoxin after long-term treatment is associated with clinical deterioration in patients with HF and a reduced or mildly reduced ejection fraction. These findings warrant caution when stopping digoxin.

Not all apoB-containing particles tell the same story.
🔹 Non–Lp(a) apoB → greater coronary plaque burden
🔹 Greater relative Lp(a) contribution → more vulnerable plaque features
New in #EJPC: Balance between apoB and Lp(a) may add another layer to cardiovascular risk assessment and personalized prevention. ow.ly/uL2650ZWCIC
