How to Japa to Germany with Just ₦2.5 Million Through German Ausbildung The truth is, if you plan properly, German Ausbildung can be one of the most affordable legal pathways to relocate to Germany. An Ausbildung is a vocational training program where you learn a profession while working for a company. In many cases, trainees receive a monthly salary, making it easier to support themselves after arrival. Here’s a realistic budget: 1. Learn German (A1 – B2) Estimated Budget: ₦1,000,000 This should cover: German language classes from beginner (A1) to upper-intermediate (B2) Study materials Practice tests Speaking practice Many Ausbildung employers require at least B1 or B2 German, depending on the profession and employer. Healthcare programs often expect B2, while some other fields may accept B1. Always check the language requirement for the specific program. (German Missions Nigeria) 2. Goethe German Exams Estimated Budget: ₦300,000 A recognized language certificate is usually needed during your application process. A budget of around ₦300,000 can cover Goethe examinations depending. Current exam fees in Nigeria vary by level and whether you are an internal or external candidate, so verify the latest prices before registering. (Goethe-Institut) 3. Germany Visa Estimated Budget: ₦120,000 The German national visa fee is €75, payable in naira at the embassy’s exchange rate, though you’ll also need to budget for document preparation, passport photos, and other incidental expenses. (German Missions Nigeria) 4. Flight Ticket Estimated Budget: ₦1,000,000 If you book early and remain flexible with your travel dates, you can often find flights within this budget. Total Estimated Budget German Language: ₦1,000,000 Goethe Exams: ₦300,000 Visa & Processing: ₦120,000 Flight Ticket: ₦1,000,000 Estimated Total: ₦2,420,000 Estimated duration: 12-18months.

It's been a while since I had this in my drafts. Hacks on how to win fully funded scholarships, including fields & regions. In the last 5 years, I have totalled over 200K euros in scholarships/ research funding without a kobo leaving my account - I may actually know my stuff.

The older I get, the more I realize that anybody who has achieved any sort of success in their life has eaten shit for years and worked incredibly hard to get there On the surface, you could easily write off John Cena’s success - chalk it up to being jacked, charismatic, and in the right place at the right time but the reality is he ate shit for 5+ years in no name stadiums trying to become a WWE star Any successful story comes with a grind. There are no handouts. Keep grinding.

Small tweak on this study incase any one cares and i think the brain is very fucked up and scary The other parts of the brain on the drivers that didn’t use the gps shrunk because the brain has limited real estate and is built for efficiency so they became worse than average

Let’s see another one. In 2000, a group of scientists med by Dr. Eleanor Maguire at University College London turned their attention to London's taxi drivers that had to memorize a labyrinth of streets known simply as "The Knowledge" before they received their license and were allowed to pick up a single passenger. No GPS. Just years of grinding memorization and mental map making. What the researchers found was startling: the drivers who navigated by memory had visibly larger gray matter in the brain regions responsible for spatial reasoning. Meanwhile, drivers who leaned on GPS showed the opposite, shrinkage in those same areas. Not normal, SHRINKAGE.. The tool that made their jobs easier had, quietly and literally, made a piece of their brain smaller.

One thing I keep telling younger friends and colleagues is to develop depth in something. Chase global opportunities. Apply for the fellowships. Go to the conferences. Build your network. Travel if you get the opportunity. Put yourself in rooms where you can meet people and see what is possible. All of these things can change your life. But somewhere along the way, make sure you are actually becoming very good at something. Know something deeply. Develop a skill people can trust you with. Become the person who understands a subject beyond what can be picked up from a few articles or a weekend workshop. Because opportunities can give you access, but access eventually exposes your level of competence. You can get into the room through a fellowship. You can meet important people at a conference. You can build an impressive LinkedIn profile. You can collect certificates from some of the best institutions in the world. Eventually, somebody will ask you to do the work. Write the paper. Analyse the data. Lead the project. Edit the story. Build the product. Explain the problem. Manage the team. Advise the organisation. And at that point, there is nowhere to hide. This is why I worry sometimes when I see young people becoming very good at chasing opportunities without spending enough time developing the competence those opportunities are supposed to accelerate. Your twenties and thirties are a great time to explore. Try different things. Move across fields. Discover what interests you. I certainly do not believe everyone needs to spend their entire career doing one thing. But exploration should still leave you with accumulated knowledge and ability. If you have worked in climate for five years, you should understand climate issues much better than someone who arrived yesterday. If you have covered elections for years, you should know the history, institutions, data, actors and debates around elections. If you work in AI, go beyond knowing the latest tools. Understand how the technology works, the policy debates, the business models, the limitations and the important questions in the field. If you are a journalist, learn to report and write exceptionally well. Whatever it is, go deep enough that people can depend on what you know and what you can do. And depth takes time. It comes from reading. Practice. Repetition. Failure. Working with people better than you. Being corrected. Doing difficult assignments. Staying with a problem long enough to understand the things that are invisible from the surface. Global opportunities are valuable. Networks matter. Visibility can help. I have benefited enormously from all three. But none of them makes competence obsolete. If anything, the more access you get, the more important competence becomes. Because getting into the room is one thing. Having something valuable to contribute when you get there is another. Competence will never go out of fashion. #YouWillNotFail
