I got up early today to prep and print before I head out to find a protest later today bc I figured Roe would drop. but I find myself exhausted even thinking about surrounding myself with folks who are going to be talking about taking it to the polls and how important voting is.

so we are left to care for each other. which is to say that despite the overwhelming dread of being surrounded by liberals chanting about voting blue or whatever I'll be out there with zines and bottles of water.

maybe some snacks too.
One easy way to tell if someone is a serious person is to see if they are blaming the left for not supporting HIllary or if they are talking about what they are going to do to organize against fascism.
The Supreme Court's draft opinion tonight would create a world in which Republicans could pass a nationwide ban on abortion in 2024, but *also* Republicans could make all forms of contraception and any consensual sexual act or relationship illegal, punishable by imprisonment.

Heading to campus. The Russia supplement tucks nicely into the Ukraine zine.

Do I remember dropping a silly amount of money on books from @AKPressDistro last night? Nope! But I made good decisions so I'm pretty excited.

I wonder if the fact that I find the 19 year old poor defendant more sympathetic than the 48 year old executive plaintiff (that I'm supposed to be assisting in the representation of as a paralegal) in my civil litigation assignment bodes well for my career in legal work?

I don't know any details of the accident yet. Just that the kid is alleged to have run a red light and hit the client's luxury car. I don't buy it. I think she's lying. Why? Who knows why capitalists think the way they do.
I'm doing a short research paper on innocence organizations and it's hilarious how enthusiastic the press was about SDO'C saying that if the numbers are right "the system may well be allowing some innocent people to be executed." #CriminalPunishmentSystem

A NTY editorial called that "pointed." I'm left wondering why the state was so helpless that it couldn't help but to allow for such tragedy. (j/k! The reason is that the state is contemptuous of any citizen that questions it.)
THREAD: Today you will hear a lot of glowing discussion about Justice Breyer. This is a different story--one about how a fraud by Breyer led to one of the greatest increases in human caging in modern world history. What he did to so many families is important to know.

There's something about the low hum of people talking quietly around me in public libraries that makes for the perfect white noise to sooth my ADHD brain and helps me focus a lot. Public libraries are probably the best things about the United States.

Studying the law is a practice in gas lighting yourself. Of course when constitution daddies wrote "no one can be tried twice" they meant to say in federal court, but that's it's totes cool to charge in state and federal court. 🙄
