Staking on @HyperliquidX, @SuiNetwork, @Aptos, Solana and Monad is now in your Kryptos portfolio.
In many countries staking rewards count as income when you receive them, and selling later can mean capital gains too. Kryptos logs each reward with its date for tax time.
Staking and portfolio tracking have mostly lived in separate places: one app to see what you hold, and another to put it to work.
That changes today for @KryptosConnect users.
Here's what's new:
First time staking this year? Keep an eye on the rewards.
In a lot of countries each reward counts as income when you get it, usually at that day's price. Frequent small payouts mean a lot of lines on a tax report.
Kryptos picks up staking rewards automatically, including staking you do in the app with @P2Pvalidator.
Not tax advice, rules differ by country.

The OCC will now look at stablecoin reward programs case by case.
For your taxes nothing changes yet. In the US, rewards you earn on stablecoins are generally income when you receive them, so keep a record of every payout.

Taxing staking rewards when you sell them instead of when they land would fix one of the most annoying parts of crypto taxes. A de minimis rule for small transactions would be the other big one. It's still just a letter to Congress, so nothing changes for this year's returns.
Holding VELO? Each one upgrades to 0.044 new AERO, and veVELO locks become sAERO. Nothing converts automatically and the upgrade is one way.
Claim your rewards and rebases first. Anything left unclaimed can't be recovered.
Then save the date, tokens in, tokens out and both tx hashes (it starts on OP Mainnet and lands on Base). Some countries treat a swap like this as a disposal, so you'll want that record when you file.
Staking with @P2Pvalidator is now part of Kryptos, on @solana, @monad, @SuiNetwork, @Aptos and @HyperliquidX.
Each reward you earn is logged in your portfolio with its date, so it's already there at tax time.

If you're in France and swap BTC into USDC or EURC, this one matters.
On Oct 16 the Assemblée nationale voted 38-37 to end the tax deferral on swaps into MiCA e-money tokens from Jan 1, 2027. Gains on those swaps would fall under the 31.4% flat tax.
It isn't law yet, and the rest of the 2027 budget process can still change or drop it.
The same text moves to a weighted average cost per coin, so keep a clean record of what you paid for each coin from now on.
🚨FRANCE MOVES TO TAX CRYPTO-TO-STABLECOIN SWAPS AT 31.4%!
French lawmakers have approved a proposal to tax gains on crypto-to-stablecoin conversions at the 31.4% flat rate starting in 2027.
The measure would treat swaps into MiCA-regulated stablecoins as taxable events. Under the current rules, tax is deferred until conversion to fiat.
For example, buying Bitcoin for €30,000 and later swapping it for €70,000 in stablecoins would trigger roughly €12,560 in tax on the €40,000 gain.

You can now stake SOL, SUI, APT, MON and HYPE from inside the app, and each network shows its estimated rate before you stake. More networks are on the way.

Here's what's new:
If you missed crypto on old US returns, this bill is worth following.
H.R. 10357 would set up a crypto voluntary disclosure program. If you certify it wasn't willful and file early, the penalty is 0% on the first $25K of tax owed per year. You still pay the tax and interest.
It passed House Ways & Means 38-5 on Sept 16. It still needs the full House, the Senate and a signature.
The slow part will be rebuilding 2021 from exchanges that may not exist anymore, so pull those CSVs now.
Still sweating over crypto trades you forgot to report a few years back? If you file taxes in the US, you are definitely not alone in losing sleep over past mistakes.
Lawmakers in Washington are looking at a bill right now that could finally give US taxpayers a clean slate. The Digital Asset Tax Certainty Act would let you file amended returns with zero penalties on up to $25k in owed taxes per year, as long as it was an honest mistake.
It already passed a key House committee with big bipartisan support, but it still has to clear the rest of Congress before it becomes official. Keep an eye on this one if your past returns need sorting.
$10B+ is sitting in crypto lending vaults now.
The APY is the easy number to find. At tax time you also need every deposit, withdrawal and reward, and the rules for vault tokens differ a lot from country to country.
Kryptos Tax pulls in your DeFi activity and sorts it into tax events for you.
