In my little world tonight - I'm having a nice late dinner. 😋 Main Entree: I slow baked skinless/boneless chicken breasts for 4 hours and I "seasoned them to perfection" with 10 different spices I had on hand here in my kitchen cupboard. 🧂 🌿 They now have a uniform golden color on top of them - and - they fall apart with only the slightest touch of a fork. Perfect! 🤗 🐔 🍽️ 🐔 🤗 Side Dishes: I also baked a large potato in the oven with the chicken breasts and I'm only eating half of it with this meal (the other half is for tomorrow). I put salt and pepper on my potato with a square of real butter. Annddd....I also made some honey-glazed carrots on my stove top in a medium saucepan. I said my prayers before I shut my eyes. I prayed for the Lord’s Holy Will to be done in my life, my loved ones’ lives, and in our Great Nation. I already saw the results - but my Faith stood firm. I know the Lord has set His holy angels to watch over us, to protect us, and to guide us in the darkness. I know the Lord’s character, and He loves us more than I can explain. While I walk this earth below, I remain thankful for His love. I do not have to fear....for He will always be with me. He is my Rock and my Salvation.... He is my Peace when none should exist in me. His Holy plan is constantly perfect, And what the enemy of our souls has meant for evil - God will ALWAYS use for good. He is always Faithful in every way. So remember to whom you belong, as you walk this earth with me. Evil will NEVER triumph over good. I’ve read the Final Book in the Holy Scriptures. 'The Night Before Midterm Elections in the Land of the Free' 😏 🇺🇸 [NOTE: This is an original satirical poem authored by Angela Stevenson on November 2, 2026 and posted to X and FB at approx. 11:30pm Central Time.] 'Twas the night before midterms, and all through the land, Not a spam call was ringing, not one single demand. The texts had gone silent, the emails grew still, No more "Vote for THIS one!" - or - "Reject that bill!" By the thousands they’d come, day and night, nonstop nagging, From candidates, PACs, and the endless Party flag-waiving. Now the phones could rest easy, the inboxes could finally breathe, As the whole nation sighed in collective relief. The doorbells - at last - had stopped their incessant ringing, No more awkward doorknockers with clipboards and grinning. "Just a minute of your time!" they’d chirp through the screen, While you hid behind curtains peeping as you wanted to scream! They'd stand on the porch with their talking points ready, Swaying exactly zero votes - none, zip, not any. Most folks just muttered, "Not interested. Thanks," Then added their party to the mental "no thanks" ranks. So annoying, so pointless, so thoroughly vain - They’d walk away sure they’d just flipped a whole lane. [Spoiler Alert: They hadn’t. Not one single vote. Just another doorbell and a half-hearted quote.] The mailboxes, once stuffed to the brim and beyond, With slick, glossy flyers on paper so fond - Thick cardstock, full color, "I'm your guy!" on each page, Had finally stopped pouring in, like a flood past its rage. No more stacks on the floor, no more recycling bin groans, No more "Who even lives here?" as you sorted the tones. Just empty slots waiting, unburdened and free.... And somewhere a forest exhaled, "Finally!" For the trees....yes....the trees - those poor, overused souls - Had been felled by the thousands for political campaign control. Slick ads mostly for the Left and a few for the Right....all the same, Turned whole forests to pulp in the "name of the game." Yet the tree-hugging progressive Liberals, so solemn and grave, Who'd lecture the rest of us how we should behave - "Go paperless, people! Save Earth! Hug a tree!” - Had mailed out their thickest and most glossy debris. They'd cry for the planet while smiling and stuffing each box, With mailers so heavy they'd make a postman talk. "Think of the forests!" they’d post from their phones, Then order another run printed on coated cardstock and bones. So now, with the flood finally ended at last, A few extra trees get to stand firm and fast. The progressive Liberals can hug them without quite so much guilt.... Until the next cycle's mailers get ordered and built. The night before midterms brought quiet and peace, A brief blessed pause in the political grease. No spam, no slick paper, no doorbells, no knocks, No trees on the line and no awkward porch talks. The game was played on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee. FAMU lost 31–28 in front of roughly 20,500 fans. That should have been the end of this event, but further problems spilled out into the streets as a deadly mass shooting began in the crowds. This matches the pattern of a street-level dispute that escalated in a crowded post-event that ended in disaster. The shooting occurred just before 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 24, 2026, near the intersection of Perry Street and Manatee Street, close to Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee. This occurred after FAMU’s homecoming football game amid the broader college homecoming weekend crowds and activities in the area. Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell reported that preliminary information indicates an altercation between individuals preceded the gunfire. At least 12 people were injured: 11 suffered gunshot wounds, and one older woman was hurt amid the ensuing panic. Of the victims: six were adults and six were juveniles (the youngest was reported to be only 11 years old). Three had serious injuries (one critical), and eight were stable. No deaths were reported in the initial media briefing. The scene has been secured. FAMU stated the campus remained safe while urging people to avoid the area. No arrests, suspect descriptions, or further motive details have been released at this time.
