So Twitter please do your stuff.
I’m desperate to find a GP successor for my great wee rural practice in Shetland. I’m retiring in April. We have advertised with no success so far. Please share widely

At least 60% of the patients we saw today in UTC either had ongoing issues that they couldn’t see GP for and were directed to us OR were on a waiting list for specialist clinic and symptoms worsening.
Our local waits for gastro (urgent) is over a YEAR - think new crohns and rapid access chest pain is months. Scan results take months to go to GP.
We will never reduce emergency attendance until primary care is funded to have more GPs, training numbers are increased to give more radiologists and outpatients becomes more efficient (appts WITH bloods and scans) and more clinics.
It’s so broken. So broken. We need to be much more honest @andyburnham and @YvetteCooperMP about just how broken it is.

Pharmacists literally do not have the training, regulation or exams to differentiate between migraine, temporal arteritis, venous sinus thrombosis, brain abscess, encephalitis, temporal artery dissection, trigeminal neuralgia, acute angle closure glaucoma, brain tumour,...etc etc
We've all been there. You wake up feeling unwell, try to get an appointment, and before you know it half the day has disappeared.
When you're sick, the last thing you should be worrying about is how you're going to get the help you need.
That's why we're expanding Pharmacy First. The idea is simple:
Qualified pharmacists can assess patients, dispense medicines and prescribe treatment for a range of common conditions, helping people get care quickly and close to home. So you don’t have to go to hospital, and you don’t need to book a GP appointment. Just walk into your local pharmacy and get the treatment you need right there, right then.
These services make a huge difference, especially for older people and those who are vulnerable.
That's why we invested a further £340 million in community pharmacies, including to deliver Pharmacy First.
Six million consultations have been delivered since the launch of the scheme.
GPs and NHS 111 have referred three million people to their local pharmacy.
And pharmacists have provided more than three million urgent medicine supplies.
We’re making it possible for qualified prescribing pharmacists to treat five more common health conditions this autumn, like migraines and ear infections, so access to treatment is easier than ever. And what we’re announcing today will make it easier to see a GP for those who need it.
I know how hard our NHS works, how much pressure staff are under and how tough it can be for people to access the care they need from my time as Health Secretary. And I know things have only got tougher in the last 15 years.
As Mayor of Greater Manchester, I saw firsthand how important it is to put more firepower in the frontlines and give people more control over their own lives.
Every place and every person matters. So we’ll make sure people can get the care they need, where they need it. That’s what this is all about.
Faster treatment. More services. Better care for patients. And less pressure on hospitals and GPs.
One less headache for people to worry about.

The best kept collusion within the NHS. Dr substitution, patients kept in the dark. Just imagine if the public were aware that pretty soon medical care won't involve professionals who've studied medicine.

'I’m truly bowled over by the outpouring of support and affection since revealing my dementia diagnosis.
'Receiving a dementia diagnosis can turn your world upside down, but I really do believe it’s better to know.
'Too many people are experiencing delays in diagnosis - on average 3.5 years - meaning they’re left in limbo without the help they need.
'An early diagnosis can open the door to treatment, support, care and the chance to take part in research that could change the future.
'People living with dementia and their families have waited long enough for change. We must demand better for everyone affected.
'I would urge everyone to join me in signing Alzheimer’s Society’s open letter calling on government to deliver a bold and ambitious plan for dementia.’

This month- sadly - I step down from my GP partner role. Have been going through a lot on a personal level, I need to be a better husband and dad, and hopefully rediscover my love for General Practice. But fuck me Wes, you are not making it easy to find things to enjoy…🧵

profession needs to give 3 months notice of an indefinite walkout unless some reasonable demands: a promise to restore pay soon; reconstitution of the DDRB terms of reference which averted industrial action for so long; & making a sensible number of training places. Gloves off

Referrals aren't clinical summaries anymore. They’re legal arguments. They’re auditions for care.
What happens when a failing system decides a patient's pain isn't worth a consultation, but a performance.

We GPs & practices have offered millions of online consult requests for months - years for many of us - this isn’t news
What is news, is that F2F GP appts are down. Pts will have to wait longer to see their GP.

Houston we have a problem.
The practice that is being touted by the government as the way to do online access has itself failed to provide access.
Video will be removed in 3.....2.....1....
Like many GP practices Dr Katz’s practice has turned off online access before 6.30pm
Why? @wesstreeting @SKinnock @DHSCgovuk
Because GPs need time to read requests before they shut for the day
This was the practice is highlighted as a beacon of what can be done
