David Hess (@hess_express28) put on a helluva showing considering all of the trials and tribulations he has endured over the last 4-5 years. I've only known David for a short 5 months, but it's pretty easy to see why this guy is so liked and why cancer never really had a shot against him.
Stuff wise, he averaged over 1mph higher than his 2025 in game average (and .2 higher than his debut season in 2018), T93 inside (huge deal), and showcased two different breaking balls. Didn't get the chance to show off the sinker or changeup, but they're there and dominant.
A true competitor and strike thrower that deserves another shot in affiliate ball.
Yesterday was a BIG milestone!
An angiosarcoma diagnosis is terrifying, but if you’re able to get to 1 year in remission there’s a drastic increase in survivability. I had a scan yesterday that came back all clear getting me to that 1 year mark. Thankful is an understatement 🙏

3 years ago I got released on my birthday and baseball seemed over. The last 2 I fought for a 6% chance of survival from cancer. My birthday a few days ago I found out playing baseball is back. After almost a year of clear scans I’m getting back on a mound. Never stop fighting 🤟

It takes a village to get through difficult times, but makes the celebration so much more better. Thank you to everyone who has been part of our village through it all!

We got scan results showing no evidence of disease and for the first time since this whole journey started we can officially say currently I’m cancer free!
