A collaboration with @hugobowne I am very pleased with: we’re figuring out agentic software factories in this article, in our course, and in many excellent conversations. oreilly.com/radar/the-agenti…

Gary Vee was one of the first to take social media seriously. Here are some thoughts about him. The Gary Vee talk I'd recommend is linked below 👇️

Friday tip: Group what matters in threes. Two sounds unfinished, and four sounds like a shopping list. Blood, sweat and tears. Not blood, sweat, tears and a bit of stress.

Stopping yourself from recording videos? 🧵 Here are 3 reasons why you should start.

2️⃣ Show your expertise. You know more than you think. You just might not know how to show it. Videos build a back catalog of your knowledge, for people and for Google, ChatGPT and AI agents. Written text is mostly AI now. On camera, you clearly have to know your stuff.

3️⃣ You learn something for life. Every video makes you better on camera and better at explaining what you know. Compare your first video with your tenth and you'll see the difference. It's hard at first. Then it gets fun.

Hot take: if you call your product or service hybrid something, “hybrid cloud,” “hybrid event,” “hybrid agent,” it is going to fail.

Friday tip: If you want people to remember your message, give them something to picture. "Sustainable growth" disappears in the mind. A seed breaking through soil stays. People forget abstract words. They remember images.

Friday tip: don't judge the first take! A first take works like a rehearsal. It's not a performance. Rehearsals are awkward. Nobody judges a play by its rehearsal. So stop judging yourself. That's what the second take is for. Just kidding, there's editing too. ;-)

Dror Poleg (@drorpoleg) is an economic historian of the near future - one of the few people with the gift of seeing around corners. I follow him to try and understand the current moment in AI, the economy, and society. What does an agentic future hold for us? How will jobs look like in the future? Are people ever coming back to the office, now that our agents are working in the cloud? @hugobowne and I will be hosting Dror for a session next week. This time, he'll be playing with open cards and share not just his insights, but also how he researches and analyses and thinks ... using AI. Join us, this is guaranteed to be illuminating: maven.com/p/dca855/thinking-…

3️⃣ Talk To Your Computer. Dictation is a surprisingly good way to practice speaking without another person in front of you. It might feel awkward at first, and that’s exactly the point. Get comfortable with that feeling.

Talking to a camera probably won’t suddenly stop feeling weird. But having someone there, building muscle memory, and getting comfortable talking to your computer can make it much easier. And if that’s still not enough, just reach out :)
