Reading old fanscans is funny sometimes cuz like, this feels significantly harsher than it's supposed to be
Tried reading Unmei Nado Sonzai Shinainode (There exists no destiny) and, i understand mtl translations are a necessary evil, better a shitty translation than none at all. However i wonder why so many of these end up having the text in the wrong order
Thinking about it the answer pretty obviously lies in a lack of regards for quality, but to end up not even realizing that one of the characters says "chapter 12 end" ? Also methink you should at least warn people that the translation is mtl
Y'know an actual discussion on how woman are portrayed in popular mangas is worth having, and even necessary. But turning it into a contest on which author's the least sexist kinda destroys any chance to have a fruitful and nuanced conversation on the topic.
Started chihayafuru and Harada's just like me cuz 50 chapters in and i still don't really understand the game
Finished Odette. It's cute and relaxing but unfortunately also kinda whatever. Reading the chapter feels repetitive cuz nothing happens in most of them. Which is the point but ehh. I think these kinds of frictionless story are better enjoyed when read weekly than in a row
Finished love of kill / koroshi ai
A lot of the author's comment talk about they wish they had the time to show stuff but that they didn't have time to do it, and unfortunately you can painfully feel it while reading.
Mainly thinking of the stuff revolving around ryang-ha1 and the conflict between forgetting and honoring. But sadly, a lot of elements of the story don't get nearly enough time to be as compelling.
I can't claim to know what happened behind the scenes, however...
First chapter of “Ryukyu Buccaneer” has been translated/scanned
It is the twilight of the shogunate in Japan--the Bakumatsu--a time of tumult in which ruffians from all walks of life vie for supremacy. Hanagusuku Muta, a Ryukyuan boy from a disgraced clan of nobles, now lives in poverty, stealing just to survive. But one day, he hears rumors of a massive cache of treasure left by a legendary pirate on a small island in the kingdom, one valuable enough to throw all of Japan into disarray. After getting framed for a crime he didn't commit by a group of Satsuma samurai, Muta gets dragged into the vigorous, bloody struggle for the treasure...!!
Finally finished the box of blessings route in hundred line
And yeah totally get why it has such a pour reputation. Pain to go through in term of gameplay, repetitive plot that barely make sense, underwhelming endings
Another thing i found very noticable is the unorganic dialogue
People disminishing everything flowey says because "he's the bad guy, he's supposed to be wrong"
