At a cost, estimated by the Cabinet Office to be up to £180,000,000 per decade, this law to force people to bring photo ID to vote is an expensive distraction from the problems the country faces. Add your name here: ers.tools/voter-id

OK. So a huge problem here is that most people are looking at acute covid from an individual viewpoint and seeing low risk, when they should be looking at long covid from a societal viewpoint and seeing that we're in massive trouble.

First they’ll charge you for GP and A&E visits. Then for therapies and outpatient appointments. Then before you know it you’ll face eye-watering bills like they do in America. Can any of us afford to pay $42,347.46 to deliver a baby?

Once upon a time, Slavery was legal Apartheid was legal The death penalty was legal Imprisoning gay men was legal Beating a child was legal. Yesterday, a high court judge said sending vulnerable asylum seekers to Rwanda is legal. Never assume that legal equals moral or ethical.

NHS nurses hold the hands, tend the wounds, save the lives, wash the dead. They comfort us, console us, diagnose us, save us. They toil & smile & endlessly care. Not a single NHS nurse wants to strike tomorrow. They’re desperate. Please show NHS nurses some love. Please RT 💙

Tomorrow 100,000 nurses go on strike. Their real pay has fallen by £1,800 this year, declining by £5,000 since 2010. 14% are using foodbanks while 1 in 3 have difficulty covering the cost of food and heating their homes. But this strike is about more than just paltry pay.🧵
