Everyone has an opinion. Everyone will tell you (if you permit them) to tell you what they think of you, your work, your motivation, etc…
The question is, why do you care? Why do you give credence to the opinion of others? How does it help you?

I spent 2 years making a thing. It’s not a very big thing, but it was truly a labor of love and it’s finally complete.

Expertise is a journey, not a destination.
You build it one step at a time, one lesson at a time. The problem is not to focus on the end but just to take a step and enjoy every moment.

Raise your skills so you don’t have to lower your prices. One will not be quick but both will set you on a path that will last a lifetime.

When you lower your prices to win a job, the only guarantee is that no matter the outcome, you'll be the loser.

Stupid—gets things done, is fearless, but can spin around in circles, directionless. Smart—gameplans, is strategic, but tends to overthink and not do. Be in the middle of Stupid-Smart (St-Art). #JustStArt.

We don’t need more inspiration. Sure, it sparks something inside of you, but will soon die. Then you need more.
Instead, take action. Commit. Make a plan. Follow it. Turn that spark into a raging inferno & light up your life.
That’s what you do with inspiration. #BizOfDesign

What good is having a belly if there's no fire in it? Wake up, drink your passion, light a match and get to work!

For a long time, I believed that obsessing over details would get me closer to being a leader. Later, I learned that the details only matter if you understand the bigger picture. Zoom out, then zoom in. #BizOfDesign

When a client asks for something to be done on an impossible timeline, just remember, this is not fast food. Good design takes time. Politely decline and refer them to Fiverr.

Stop trading time for money. Charge for the value you bring.
Stole this from @theChrisDo 's comments on a post.

There is nothing like your art. Not only does it help you escape through your imagination, it also stands for observation, skill, problem solving, observation, visual-thinking and self-expression.
It is a thing of beauty and we get to do it daily.

What are the benefits to charging more?
Get better clients who value your time & have bigger problems to solve. Work less. Earn more. But perhaps the best reason is that you value your time and stop resenting clients for hiring you. Client change? Happy to do it!

When creatives cite "fear of losing a client" as the main reason why they don't ask for more, I wonder, "How do you lose something you never had?" Up until the client called, you didn't even know they existed. Do you often look at things you don't own and mourn the loss of it?

Whatever you seek you will find. If you wonder what’s the worst that can happen, you will surely find it. How you label experiences & events will determine how you feel about it.
This is the #WarOnWords. Whichever voice in your head that wins, will determine your success.

DESIGNER: wants legit, good paying, decent client.
CLIENT: wants designers who speak the language of business not just design, strategic thinker and holds our business needs above the desire to make "art". This is the #BizOfDesign

Why is a simple logo so expensive? Chris Do Answers
What are the most valuable brands in the world? Are their logos simple or complex? 1. Amazon 2. Apple 3. Google
It's easier to design a more complicated logo, just keep adding. It's much harder to only add what is necessary.
