Students lead. Families listen. Learning comes to life! At High Tech High, Student-Led Conferences (SLCs) give students from Kindergarten through 12th Grade ownership over their education. Instead of traditional parent-teacher meetings, SLCs empower our students to reflect on their journey, celebrate their strengths, identify key areas for growth, and map out what comes next. Because learning isn't a lecture, it's a conversation we build together. 🎤🗣️ Families and students: What was your favorite moment from your recent Student-Led Conference? Share your highlights in the comments below! 👇 #HighTechHigh #StudentLedConferences #SLCs #StudentOwnership #HTHCommunity

🎙️ From the Deeper Learning Conference media team to the podcast mic! While helping capture stories at the Deeper Learning Conference, High Tech High students Poema, Diego, and Jillian met Josh Reppun from What School Could Be. When he asked if they wanted to be on a podcast, their answer was an easy yes. Now, they’re featured in the What School Could Be podcast episode, “Awe and Pride at High Tech High,” sharing their experiences with learning, challenge, relationships, purpose, and what school can be when students are trusted to create meaningful work. We’re so proud to see HTH students using their voices, telling their stories, and representing the power of deeper learning. 🌟 #HighTechHigh #WhatSchoolCouldBe #DeeperLearning #StudentVoice #HTHStudents

Students at High Tech High Chula Vista know Enrique Lugo, affectionately known as "Chikle," as a caring Dean of Students who encourages them to dream big and express themselves authentically. Now, the broader San Diego community can experience his creativity on an even larger canvas. The Arts District Liberty Station recently selected Chikle as one of two artists commissioned for its prestigious Installations at the Station public art program. His new mural, "Estación Libertad," celebrates the shared culture and creativity of the San Diego–Tijuana border region through bold imagery inspired by American traditional tattoo art. Featuring symbols like monarch butterflies, hummingbirds, nopales, lowriders, and even spaceships, the mural tells a story of resilience, migration, imagination, and community. As the proud son of Mexican immigrants, Chikle brings the same passion for creativity, culture, and human-centered education to his artwork that he brings to our students each day. If you're visiting Liberty Station this summer, be sure to stop by. #LibertyStationArt #BorderCulture #HighTechHigh #SanDiegoArtists

Isabella Corrales, a rising senior at High Tech High Mesa, completed a month-long internship with CEO Dr. Diana Cornejo-Sanchez, gaining first-hand insight into educational leadership and the inner workings of the school system. Isabella described the experience as fast-paced but deeply enriching — she grew as a leader, learned to adapt, and felt genuinely supported by HTH staff and outside leaders alike. The internship boosted her confidence and clarity about her future. Diana reflects that she hoped to model leading with love and for community. She found that Isabella already embodied those qualities. Most notably, Isabella was the driving force behind the creation of HTH's first-ever CEO Student Advisory Council, which will open nominations in Fall 2026, ensuring students always have a seat at the table. #HTHSeniorSuccess #EducationalLeadership #FutureOfEducation #HTHMesaInternship

Welcome to Our New Student Board Members! Big news: we're welcoming two incredible new voices to our Board — please join us in congratulating Grace Caris, rising junior at HTHI, and Isabella Corrales, rising senior at HTHM! Both students attended their first meeting this past week — a special board session — and they're already fitting right in, bringing fresh energy, sharp insight, and the student perspective that makes our decision-making stronger. Student voice on our Board isn't a symbolic gesture — it's core to how we lead. Congratulations, Grace and Isabella. We can't wait to see the impact you'll make! #StudentLeadership #HighTechHigh #StudentVoice #NextGenLeaders

Our High Tech High Chula Vista campus hosted the University District Chula Vista Community Forum this week, bringing together key stakeholders shaping the future of higher education in the South Bay. The UDCV represents a bold new model — one that would bring multiple higher education institutions together in one location, expand career-aligned opportunities for regional learners, and strengthen our binational community. We're proud that one of our own rising seniors joined the panel to share a student's hope for the future of this campus — because when young people help shape the vision, the vision gets better. We cannot wait for the day our elementary, middle, and high school students can literally see their future from their classroom, overlooking a multi-institution university with binational reach. Higher education for ALL! #HigherEd #ChulaVista #UniversityDistrictCV #StudentVoice

On June 2nd, we hosted all of our High Tech High 8th-10th graders at our HTH Point Loma Campus, where they experienced three 45-minute rotations featuring a college fair, a leadership keynote speaker, mock interviews, career panels, and hands-on career workshops. Seeing 20 charter buses line up in our Liberty Station Parking lot and our students in their professional clothing, with lanyards on and folders with their resumes in tow, was so incredible! It was so cool to see our students receive in-person interview feedback, get their career path questions answered, dive into robotics, micropetting, performing CPR and using AEDs, learn about finance and pharmaceuticals, design a city with constraints, and talk to reps about their academic and extracurricular programming. Such enormous gratitude to our professional volunteers and college reps who took time out of their busy days to be present with our students, offer advice and feedback, and connect with our students as individuals! Thank you! Shout out to all of the HTH educators who ran with our vision and helped make this day a success! Let’s go High Tech High College and Career Week!'' -Meghan Paddy, organizer of HTH College and Career Week #HighTechHighEvent #CollegeAndCareerWeek #HTHCollegeFair #StudentProfessionalDevelopment #CareerWorkshops

📷📷 A huge thank you to Chair of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, Terra Lawson-Remer, for her continued support of High Tech High students and college access opportunities. At the kickoff of College and Career Week 2026, we were honored to recognize the County of San Diego's investment in our students through a $20,000 grant awarded to the High Tech High Foundation to support College Caravans at our Point Loma schools. These experiences help students explore college campuses, envision their futures, and connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities. We were also pleased to welcome Matthew Tilyer, representing Supervisor Lawson-Remer, who joined us to celebrate the launch of College and Career Week and share the County’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities for young people across our region. College aspirations become reality when communities invest in students. Thank you, Supervisor Lawson-Remer and the County of San Diego, for helping open doors and expand possibilities for the next generation. 📷📷 #HighTechHigh #CollegeAndCareerWeek #CollegeCaravans #CollegeAccess #StudentSuccess #FutureReady #SanDiegoCounty #HTHFoundation

Support High Tech Eats 🍎 Please support our scratch cooking by encouraging your students to get school breakfast and lunch! It is free for all students. Students get school lunch less in April, May and June. We anticipate a drop of about 30,000 lunches alone between now and the end of the year, which means a huge loss in revenue for our kitchens. We want to keep our scratch-cook program going strong through the end of the year, so please don't forget about us! Here are a few easy ways you can support: Encourage students to grab breakfast and lunch (it’s free for students!) Post the menus in your classroom Try it yourself! $4 Breakfast, $6 Lunch Order field trip meals if you need them (please give us two weeks’ notice) Fill out a field trip form for field trips, intersession, etc! Potlucks - notify us at [email protected] if you’re making other lunch plans See you at lunch! #SupportHighTechEats #FreeSchoolMeals #EncourageBreakfastAndLunch #ScratchCooking

For current HTH students, De’Andre’s advice is simple: “Keep all options open and don’t burn any bridges. You don’t have to have it all figured out right now—just keep progressing toward something.” Today, as De’Andre supports historic space missions and serves his country, he remains connected to the High Tech High community. A sibling is currently attending HTH. His journey is proof that paths aren’t always linear, but preparation matters. “By finishing my education, it kept the door open for me to become a military officer,” he said. “I didn’t figure this path was for me until after graduating from college. …I’m a big dreamer. I always feel like I’m two steps away from the next big breakthrough.” #HTHAlumni #HighTechHigh #WomenInSTEAM #NavalAviator #Artemis #ArtemisII #NASAArtemis #FutureLeaders #AlumniSpotlight #HTH
