Gwaldamに小規模なチベット仏教寺院があった。寺院の周辺にはチベット系と見られる複数の家族が居住しているようだ。寺院自体は古いものではなく、この地域とチベットとの交易と関係があるから不明であるが、居心地の良い場所だった。
