JMD, HMWSSB has inspected the water supply and sewerage works in LB Nagar Zone – Penalties imposed on agencies for lapses along with the ED, Malkajgiri, DOP-Malkajgiri, CGM, GM and concerned staff. Inspected the NTR Nagar Tanker Filling Station in Saroornagar Circle. Observing water leakages from the outlets of the tankers, the JMD instructed the tanker owners to arrest the leakages from the tanker outlets forthwith so that precious drinking water is not wasted. Inspected the water supply line choke-up clearing work on the 150 mm / 100 mm dia CI water supply lines at Janaki Enclave in Lingojiguda Ward, LB Nagar Circle. The Pollution equipment engaged at the site helped in tracing out two buried sluice valves, which have been repaired. It was also observed that the about 30-year-old CI lines have rusted from inside, reducing the effective diameter and causing low pressure to consumers. The JMD instructed the officials to complete the condition assessment of the balance branch lines and to submit a proposal for replacement of the rusted, age-old water supply lines as a permanent measure. Inspected the raising and benching of the damaged sewer manhole on the 200 mm dia SWG sewer line at Global Hospital Road, Lingojiguda. Finding that the manhole had not been raised to road level, the JMD instructed to impose the penalties on the AMS Agency and instructed that the raising and benching of the manhole be completed properly up to road level. Also inspected the pollution complaint at NTR Nagar Phase-3, Saroornagar Circle, and observed the operation of robotic camera in identifying the point of pollution in the water supply lines. Noting that the robotic camera is a fast and trench-less solution which pin-points the source of pollution without digging the roads, the JMD instructed the officials to use the robotic camera regularly and to rectify all pollution complaints within two days only by using the robotic camera. The JMD noticed that the consumer at Haripuri Colony, was wasting drinking water for washing the floor, with the water flowing onto the road and a penalty was imposed on the consumer for wastage of water.
