When I was in middle school my dad used to asked if I wanted to go to the ball field to practice. Sometimes I said no. He’d say “let’s go for a bucket. If you don’t want to stay, I clean everything up & we will come home”. Not 1 time did I stay for just 1 bucket. It turned into

Want to hit rockets? Don't make it harder than it needs to be. Do you need to do all these things to hit bombs? No, but it definitely helps. While there is nuance in swing mechanics when it comes to hitting 100+ mph, there's a reason high school kids weighing 140 lbs soaking wet and can't bench a plate can't sniff it.

The Carter Brundage Case Study is a perfect example of what happens from when we focus on Complete Player Development. 66-93 MPH EV doesn't even begin to tell the whole story. Academics, character, work ethic, movement quality, health, communication. Come see us if you're tired of staying stagnant.

Freshman Mari Jackson hits an absolutely rocket shot laser over the CF head. Mari has been coming to The Hit Mill since late Spring of 2025. Yesterday she was in house hitting rockets, topping out at 70mph EV. The changes she’s made are eye popping. Yesterday she had a suggestion on her load. After a discussion, we moved her hands slightly and things cleaned up even more. At The Hit Mill we value athlete (& coach) collaboration. Mari is a perfect example how relationships and communication help both the coach and the athlete.

Watch the front shoulder work straight back. Watch how the barrel turns and the depth it enters at. Notice how the hands are getting pulled forward prior to the barrel turning completely underneath them. All of it is dependent on posture. Forward bend to side bend.

Typically your record in 1-run games should reflect your overall record. Large deviations from that are almost entirely luck. Bullpen dominance and "manufacturing runs" basically explain none of the variance. So then, uh, about Cincinnati...

If you lose the back hip, you lose everything. It’s all about posture. It starts with the back foot & back hip. You’ve got to maintain that posture and deliver the back on time, with direction.

Today I saw a youth coach tell his team of prepubescent players they needed to do a better job of moving runners at the back of the lineup and I saw someone else verbally say that is elite information

1) prepubescent kids should learn how to control the barrel. 2) prepubescent kids should not be chastised for not controlling the barrel 3) prepubescent kids should all be given the same opportunities to perform 4) teaching kids to move runners is not elite coaching

Coming out of your lower half is a problem we see in a lot of hitters. If you want to be a successful hitter you must learn to hold the ground as you go through rotation. Strap down swings off a tee is a great way for the hitter to feel the ground in rotation.

Ash Mayo has all the tools. Hits the ball over 100 MPH, runs well, upper 80's on the bump. His arm works. Potential to run it up into the mid 90's.

+ hit tool, + run tool. Switch hitter with way more power (that he will develop) in the tank. @GamecockBSB got an absolute stud.
‘27 Util. Joseph Rutledge (SC @GamecockBSB) won’t be a sleeper after the past 2 weeks & is clamoring to be a helium guy here. New switch-hitter has been on the barrel w/ excellent ABs here and showing off a +run tool including 4.25 turns. Like the relaxed look from both sides. Plays hard!! N2K. #MLBDraft

Absolute stud. Kid just started hitting from the left side and is crushing it. Switch Hitter with great instincts on the bases and pop - with more pop in the tank.
