Being honest here. Hotcano has been through a hard stretch. We used to have a lot more clients than we do today, and I've had to rethink how I run things.
What I'm doing about it: rebuilding how I work around small systems that run every week. AI agents help with the busywork, and I make the calls.
I started Hotcano in January 2019. Almost 8 years in, and I'm still learning how to explain what I do. Haha.
Building in public is part of how I'm fixing that.
The tool matters less than I used to think. What helps me most is a simple process I actually run every week.
Do you have a weekly routine for your marketing?
Most small businesses don't have a marketing problem. They have a systems problem.
They try a new tool, get busy, and the whole thing falls apart. Here's how I think about fixing that. 🧵
For a small business that might look like this:
• Check where last week's customers came from
• Follow up with anyone who asked a question and never bought
• Post one useful thing, then talk to people who reply
• Ask one happy customer for a review
Simple. Repeatable. It compounds.
New week! My plan is simple. Show up here every day, Monday through Saturday, and actually talk with people. Sunday is for family.

My 2 original posts got zero engagement. Haha. The replies did all the work.
Showing up in other people's conversations did more than anything I posted myself. I'm going to keep doing that. 💪
