Sometimes I wish my Twitter following was a little more interested in my actual content and being part of my community.
I feel like a good portion of my following doesn’t really care about my streams or the content I create. And I’m not saying everyone needs to show up to every stream. I completely understand that people have lives, schedules, and other responsibilities.
But I also have VODs on Twitch and daily uploads on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. There are plenty of ways to support and interact with my content outside of catching a livestream.
I do post clips here, but realistically, engagement on Twitter doesn’t do much for my growth on the platforms where my content actually matters. Having a large following here doesn’t necessarily translate into people watching or supporting what I do elsewhere.
Sometimes it feels like more people are interested in flirting with me, getting into my DMs, or trying to become my best friend than actually being interested in what I create.
And I’m not mad at anyone for not watching or interacting. I just wish there was a little more genuine interest in the work I put into my content and the community I’m trying to build.
At the end of the day, having a large Twitter following is nice, but if it doesn’t translate into anything beyond numbers on a screen or potentially getting paid by Twitter someday, it starts to feel a little meaningless.
