African immigrants to the United States are some of the most highly skilled, especially in STEM education. For example, Nigerian immigrants in the United States are among the ten most educated immigrant community in America, according to the US Census Bureau. 65% of Nigerian immigrants in the US hold at least a bachelor's degree, or higher. In terms of their proportion of the US population, almost no other immigrant or native born community in the United States has as many doctors and nurses per capita as the Nigerian community. Our medical professionals in the US are amongst the best, including Dr Oluyinka Olutoye, Chief of Surgery at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Texas, and a pioneer of fetal and neonatal surgery. He is the first person on Earth to successfully perform a surgery by taking out an unborn fetus from its mother’s womb and putting it back after the surgery. Amongst the wealthiest Black entrepreneurs in America, no other immigrant community gestures ad much as Nigerians, with at least four Nigerian Americans being dollar billionaires. They include Adebayo Ogunlesi, Tope Awotona, and Wemimo Abbey. Collectively, they are worth over $4 billion. Finally, in her book The Triple Package, Tiger Mum and bestselling author, Amy Chua, raised that issue saying "Nigerian" is the only black ethnicity listed among the eight social groups that have a "cultural edge" when it comes to succeeding and climbing the ranks in America". In the light of the above, I am not sure that the highlighted claim about African immigrants is accurate. Thank you and may God bless you.
