Bringing the One Piece card timeline to life for anyone getting into vintage or curious what came when. A high-level guide to the major sets, highlighting key cards from each. I’m also recreating the original holo/foil effects in WebGL, look out for it Friday.

Released as part of Bandai’s early One Piece card game in 2002, these “license” promos were distributed through competitive play, with different cards awarded for participation and tournament achievements.
The examples shown here range from a Chopper Pirate License awarded for five wins to Luffy Top 5 and tournament winner prizes. At the top is the Gold Roger Pirate King License, awarded as a National Tour winner prize.
