Been delayed here sitting on the floor of the MEL terminal for one hour. Never again @JetstarAirways. We treat livestock better than this.
It upsets me that @elonmusk accuses the Australian government of fascism given that what we are trying to do is protect our children and the public at large re the internet.

I wonder how many of you out there excited about the WASM component model know of similar technologies, back in the day… we can always learn from the past.

I'm gradually starting to use Twitter again (yeah, I know, X). Let's see how this goes... :-)
@a4dev and I recently updated our Event Driven Finite State Machine project (edfsm: github.com/titanclass/edfsm). We've added support for the Moore and Mealy style FSMs to live together.

Here's my conversation with Andrej Karpathy (@karpathy), a legendary AI researcher, engineer, and educator, and former director of AI at Tesla. This chat was super fun, technical, and inspiring. youtube.com/watch?v=cdiD-9MM…
If you’re not able to run on one core and consume less than 10W of power then I don’t think you can claim to be running at the edge in practical terms.
Improved the DSL for our event-driven FSM library - you now also declare those states/commands that are to be ignored. This has just helped me discover a number of bugs I had in an FSM:
```
ignore!(Idle => Stop);
ignore!(Running => Start);
```

It amazes me how many companies still rely on daily batch loads - my accounts system banking integration, power utilities meters… There’s little excuse for being more than n minutes behind, depending on the use-case of course.
Event driven is even better for the customer…
Even if you don’t read this article, and you should, just let this sink in: “To be clear, the underlying problem is not the licensing, it’s that these companies don’t know how to make money”. OSS as a side-effect of a core business model makes most sense to me.

My colleague @a4dev and I needed a server discovery protocol for our half-duplex protocol, flip-flop. You can search for another example implementing the protocol and the README on the home page describes its workings.

An update after a few months of usage. The event driven FSM lib we wrote is working out very well. This is a reasonable start point for taking on Akka Persistence using Rust. More to come as we move Rust more into the enterprise arena!
I’ve just published my use of event driven FSMs as a library and a macro-based DSL. All @rustlang that can be targeted for @rustembedded and beyond.
Let the compiler navigate and check your FSMs!

Thanks to @a4dev and @stevewillcock for their feedback!
I love listening to Jonas. He has unknowingly influenced the design of our edge based hardware and software at Cuprous. Give him a listen.

Yay, my PR that supports Server Sent Events is now available for @rustwasm! SSE is great and should be used more. Having the browser manage the connection is an advantage over WebSockets. And given http/2 with one connect, there is even less benefit to WS. github.com/rustwasm/gloo/pul…
I don’t normally do dog photos etc, but I wanted to share that we have a new puppy named Rusty. I think I might be becoming a little obsessed with @rustlang … ;-)
