My segment today on the now top 30 Apple news podcast, The World and Everything in It. We call our segment Washington Wednesday. This week, it is all about the midterms. I was forced to make some predictions, which I would normally resist!

Thing everybody knew to be true turns out to be true.
SCOOP: Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot.
But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates.

Bolsonaro jr. having to flee the country for losing an election to the 80-year-old sitting president does not reflect well on the current state of Brazilian civics.
Look at this! Look at the ranking for The World and Everything in It on the list of Apple News podcasts!
I generally want to give Obama credit for his good qualities, but his snobby comments about the aesthetic of the Cheesecake Factory really irritates me. I'm very happy to take the family to that restaurant for a special occasion.

Many of the things that make a country rich are invisible.
You can’t see or touch property rights, the rule of law or the ease of doing business. That makes them easy to overlook.
People talk about natural resources, but pay much less attention to whether ordinary people can start and run businesses without facing senseless rules and regulations.
People are much more willing to invest when their property is protected and the same rules apply to everyone, including politicians.
If you’re afraid an official could take your land or shut down your business, you’re going to think twice before risking your savings.
A country can have plenty of natural resources and still make it hard for its people to prosper.

Tony Dungy says that he's pretty sure that NBC fired him because he's pro life.
Tony and his wife, both devout Christians who have 11 children, says that NBC knew who he was when they hired him.
He was a speaker at the March for Life in 2023 which NBC was unhappy about.
He and his wife run the Dungy Family Foundation which has worked with pregnancy centers.
Honorable man.
It's easy for me to believe Dems are ahead nationally right now, but I don't know how anyone has confidence in polls. Nobody answers cold calls on their cell. How in the world do you engage in randomized polling?

And maybe this true for a lot longer than many are comfortable admitting.
Agree about control. Aside what can struggle for from within (dignity, integrity, etc.), need to make peace with what's external to that.
Not making peace with it can even risks losing dignity, honor, etc

I felt as a head of an organization, I should be off social media. @jmnr was retired! My new community has asked me to return. Can I ask for help in rebuilding a good community that loves Jesus, books, dialectic, and can tolerate Packer enthusiasm?
