And last month, the UN Fact-Finding Mission identified individuals and entities in the UAE among those sustaining the war.
This is a consistent pattern of a government that undermines UN institutions whenever their findings implicate it.

Electing its senior diplomat as Secretary-General would hand leadership of those same institutions to that government's chief defender, at the very moment Sudanese civilians most need the UN to hold powerful states accountable.
