I'm always excited to meet people who are optimistic about the future, think that we can be so much more than we are now, and have experience with bringing dreams into the physical world. hyperturing.com

i’m curious if agent swarms tend to self-organize in any particular way. do they select lead agents? is there hierarchy? do they establish responsible engineers?

i feel that i’ve never seen an illustration of an interstellar vehicle casting off that comes even close to expressing the incredible control over nearly unfathomable energies required to do so

we are looking for exceptional software engineers who can help us design and operate vehicles that are reliable enough, performant enough, and simple enough to fly 100,000 times a year. DM me your resume before applying. job-boards.greenhouse.io/spa…

it is so incredibly obvious to me that there is no future in building intelligence into individual products. I don’t want to use a different chatbot in every app. I want my personal agent to be able to discover and talk to the tools i happen to be using.

long live humankind. i refuse to be a bootloader.
i think i am most excited about ai as a means to transhumanism. a future in which we cede control of ourselves as humans is a negative one. merge yes, change yes, be transformed and unrecognizable yes, but never surrender

The predictable failing of art like this is that no matter how detailed, pristine, elegant, it will never measure up to the engineering of the starships it’s built to honor. The only way to compare is to build beauty in abstraction, in leaving out the details.
The statue of Prometheus is finally finished. It was cast in Paris, crossed the Atlantic, and was assembled at Starbase. It took us 100 days to go from nothing to this. People of the West, we have lived through an era devoid of dreams, devoid of destiny. But the time has come to reclaim our dream of antiquity. In a few months, we will start building a new city. It will be the most magnificent city in all of history. After all, the great dream of the West has always been to rebuild Rome. Come walk beside us in this endeavor. The world is waiting.

Some data we recently assembled on entrepreneurship/compute in Europe: eudata.vercel.app. We hope that one of the useful roles that Stripe can play is in collecting and publishing empirical data pertaining to entrepreneurship and industry in Europe. There's growing appetite to get Europe on a better footing, and cross-sectional comparisons can often shine light on where opportunities lie. If you're interested in this kind of thing, we publish more at stripeeconomics.substack.com.
