True, but memorisation is part of cognitive development, and it's a skill everyone should practice and master to some extent. It's the culture embedded in our society that makes students feel like they don't belong.
We were shaped by a system that leads us to live lives we never chose. We were subjected to disciplines we don't fully understand and divided by grades we were never necessarily meant to excel in.
As a result, many students lose their passion and fail to develop wisdom and survive the real world because they've spent so much of their lives pursuing field of expertise that were never meant for them.
Academics aren't the problem, our attention spans are. And we've been robbed of the ability to focus, think deeply and engage meaningfully with what aligns with our individual abilities.
Pagi2 sudah ditampar dengan fakta. Yes, this is real.
Education kat Malaysia ni ramai kejar good results je, bukan sebab nak ilmu.
Masa sekolah practice tulis past year paper je. Masuk universiti pun tgk past year paper. Mintak hint drpd lecturer lepastu hafal within 1 weeks of study period.
That’s why ramai ada degree tapi bodoh. Dah tua pun bodoh.
I wish this couple all the best. At least they're putting their fortune to good use by building a healthy life together. Perhaps these responsibilities will teach him that there's more to life than being single ever could.
No shade towards them, but the public should understand the importance of not blindly following quotes and idioms from someone whose foundation was built for them, not by them.
And for those who come up with quotes that make little to no sense, perhaps it's a reflection of their limited experience with loss, hardship, and overcoming adversity.

This happened live on Vietnamese TV this morning; it was a national competition for gifted students and this lad came in third place.
Never thought I'd see the Vietcong throwing Romans but here we are!
