Calling all crypto twitter.
I'm proud to announce that Jacob Horne @js_horne has joined Polymarket. He will be working closely with me on product, in particular making Polymarket DeFi great again.
Jacob is amongst the best product and innovation minds in crypto. Before this, he was CEO of Zora. He built multiple beautiful products (I was one of the first users of the first version in 2020). Now he's got the PMF and distribution of Polymarket. I'm so excited to work with him.
We'll be hosting a Polymarket DeFi town hall soon to hear from our longtime users and lay out the plan to make the Polymarket DeFi product the best it’s ever been. In the meantime, DM your feedback to @js_horne or me and we'll action it.
To the DeFi community, we know the performance of the onchain product has waned as we've scaled, and it hurts us to hear the frustration of the people who love Polymarket and have supported us for so long thinking we’ve pivoted all focus to US, but just know we're working behind the scenes to unify the products and make Polymarket better than ever, across all surface areas.

Honest post: the Polymarket DeFi CLOB is full of tech debt. It grew fast, got hacked together, and most of the team inherited it that way. Since joining and building out the team, we have scaled it 10x and made it 3x faster, but it’s not enough; the core foundations of how it’s been built are wrong in almost every way. You try to fix one thing, and another thing goes wrong; the conclusion now is that the codebase can’t be saved long-term.
The exchange is the heart of Polymarket; everything runs through it. If we want to be the best exchange in the world, it must be fast, stable, and scalable. We can’t keep patching the old one, where these core foundations are generally missing throughout, so we’re rewriting it from scratch in Rust.
Early numbers: 10-20x faster on p99 than today, 200,000 orders per second (15x what we have now, with room to reach 400,000+), and stability under load. This will put us faster than most exchanges, including CEXs.
Building it in Rust gives us memory safety with no garbage collector. No GC means no random pauses and no random latency spikes; the tail latency in the benchmarks is the tail latency you get in production, alongside a strict compiler that enforces correctness up front. Data races and memory corruption (the bugs that take exchanges down) can’t exist in the first place.
Polymarket has to take it seriously that we are an exchange; this is people’s money, not a joke. To succeed, we have to fix this; otherwise, we will fail. It’s as simple as that. I joined to build the best software in the world, not to maintain some of the worst, and I will do everything I can to make Polymarket a serious exchange.
We are aiming to have the exchange ready sometime in Q4 (mid to end). I'll communicate progress as we go so you all know the status. Breaking changes will be minimal for all integrators and will be communicated in advance. We will maintain the existing CLOB and keep trying to improve it as we build this side by side. We can’t wait to throw away the existing CLOB; we dislike it as much as you all do.
Make Polymarket fast, finally.

Being motivated all the time is not possible
Motivation comes and goes
And I have personally struggled with this, I get motivated for a period of time, lose that motivation and feel lost
But I know I have to push through to make things happen, it doesn’t matter if I am motivated or not
The world won’t stop rotating because of that
Stay disciplined and show up every single day
While everyone else is going to be doing the same typical list of goals for 2026
I will follow a system and do it publicly here on X to keep myself as accountable as possible
It’s time to stop being sidelined and create your own opportunities
Lock in
NFTs will never be the same ever again, most are horribly down from their ath
This is a take I have seen a lot on my TL, and I have to agree with it. They will never be the same, but I do believe this is for the best
There should be a shift in narrative for NFTs and what their purpose in Web3 is, since, let's be honest, minting expecting to make some profit is not even viable anymore, you just have to take a look at all the recent mints, big or small
There are some projects that will focus purely on art, which I believe is a great narrative for NFTs, good examples for this are CryptoPunks, Beeple, XCOPY, and Sam Spratt, to name a few
There are projects that will focus on their IP and products like BAYC, Pudgy, GVC, Doodles, Azuki, and Fwogs, and they should be able to grow without indefinitely having to give back free benefits to its holders
For me, NFTs are all about the community and art, it is no longer a profit sharing game. The communities that are built around some of these NFTs can provide a lot more value nowadays than only trying to profit from them
Ultimately, the shift from pure speculation to sustainable utility and artistic appreciation is a necessary evolution. We have to move away from the "get rich quick" mentality, so we can focus on the long term value of NFTs: creating genuine connections and defining a new digital culture
The era of "flipping NFTs" might be over, but the era of meaningful ownership is just beginning
Day 36 of my video content creation arc
Have some family over so I wasn’t able to record today’s video
Will be back to the daily content tomorrow
In the meantime here’s a pic of my clean fwog
End of the year is hitting me hard rn
May actually take a bit of time fully off just before I come back ready to lock in for 2026
Will try to at least post 2-3 times a day
And keep my daily videos, but I want to disconnect, discover what I want to build and come back with an even stronger purpose
Appreciate every single one of you who have been supporting me these past few months 💚
I have not made life changing money in web3 (yet)
It’s been 4 years now since I got here, I have been blessed with some awesome working opportunities, mostly focused on community building and NFTs
But I have consistently faded and ignored a ton of opportunities outside NFTs
In 2026 I will make sure to start taking more calculated risks and make that life changing money a reality
