Astra is really, really cool but I cannot current trust it for my present day engineering. At least until I have adjusted. Some random thoughts including code samples of what I recovered from my traces. lucumr.pocoo.org/2026/9/7/as…

I have a serious question…. How is our industry not having more rage and disgust against Bonnie blue …? I know she’s all about rage bait but doesn’t anyone else think it’s gone too far? sexualizing newborns now..? even if it’s a fake baby, it’s still disgusting and repulsive. Children & sex work DONT belong in the same space. Idk 🤷🏼♀️

mattpocock/skills v1.2 is out!
We're now the 19th most-starred repo of all time. 13.5m downloads on skills.sh. Thanks for your support!
Here's what's new:
- Docs: the community's biggest ask. Every skill documented, with explanations of the main flows + troubleshooting
- Claude Plugin: install via Claude's official marketplace
- Codex Support: full Codex support via agents/openai.yaml files
Updated Skills:
- /grilling now asks you questions in rounds, not one-by-one
- /prototype now uses HTML instead of a TUI for building logic prototypes - easier to share and far richer
- /writing-for-agents renamed from /writing-great-skills, use it for ANYTHING your agents read (AGENTS.md, system prompts, docs)
New Skills:
- /wizard: tired of provisioning infra? Get your agent to build you a TUI to walk you through it
- /to-questionnaire: hit a grilling question you can't answer? Turn the session into a doc you can walk through on a call with a colleague
- /wait-what: no idea what the model said? Refocus it in your domain language and simplify with ASD-STE100
Full changelog + docs below. Video soon!

better-result 3.0 is now available
npm i better-result@3
highlights below
Introducing the evlog CLI.
Lighthouse for observability. It reads your source, understands your framework, finds every entry point, and maps what context you'll have when things break.
evlog map
Scans your app and gives you an observability score. Finds handlers logging nothing, routes with no audit trail. Tells you the exact three to fix first.
evlog init
Guided setup that reads your project before asking anything. Detects your framework, finds repeated errors across files, generates error catalogs seeded with your actual code. Patches configs at AST level so nothing breaks.
evlog doctor
Verifies evlog is installed and writing where you expect.
Every command outputs JSON. Every check can be disabled in code. Gates CI with --min-score and --baseline to catch regressions per requirement.
A CLI that understands your codebase, knows which endpoints exist, what they do, where the gaps are. That's exactly what AI agents need to reason about observability.
The static analysis, framework detection, deterministic scans, structured output. This is the foundation agents need to understand your app's coverage and make informed decisions.
Fair warning: this is complex tooling. I've tested it thoroughly, everything works in theory, but it's early. Bugs might surface. Shipping anyway because like we say at Vercel, ITG!

React Aria is now available in shadcn/ui.
Use `--base aria` or choose React Aria in shadcn/create.
All components, docs, CLI, styles and skills have been updated for React Aria Components.
Shoutout to @devongovett who did most of the work behind this release.
Anthropic did a big strategic error. Normally they compare their models with their old models. Instead today, now that everybody knows how strong GPT 5.5 is at coding, they put it in the mix, basically showing all their customers that the benchmarks can't be trusted.

Clean Code was never about syntax. It was always about structure. The second edition makes that even clearer by using the same principles in multiple languages. If we, who pilot agents, disengage from syntax, we are not disengaging from structure. The Clean Code principles still apply.

Finally, @Tan_Stack Start now supports React Server Components!
Start's RSCs are a truly fetchable, cacheable and composable primitive that work with your favorite tools instead of dictating your entire architecture.
Oh, and one more thing... "Composite Components" 😉
