It's so good to see young people encouraging each other. Some are taking on R50k or R100k emergency savings challenges. Some are investing for the long term. Others are going back to study.
Everyone is building something, at their own pace, and cheering each other on along the way.

You need to work hard in order to move out of the place you are in, js to experience what actual life feels like. So, I beg you work hard for yourself. You need to move out.

Highly recommend being friends with ambitious people. Their drive pushes you to also work hard for yourself. They inspire you to do better, be better. Their good traits rub off on you. You start to want better for yourself and you grow.

Once you understand no one is obligated to do anything for you, you'll appreciate the people who choose to show up.
Intelligent people have no friends. Or maybe just one or two. The thing is... they observe too much. They notice the little things most people miss. The change in your tone. The energy behind a compliment. The difference between what you say and what you "actually" do. The intentions behind carefully chosen words. They observe patterns. Read behaviours like a book. They can sense whether you're pretending, or being genuinely happy for them. They don't say it. But trust me, they know.

The age of 30 is difficult. You want goats, you want an apartment, you want a car, you want a business, you want a village house. Then you have someone in your inbox asking for you to go drop her sister's envelope at her sister's friend's cousins nephew.

Discipline is boring.
Hard work is boring.
Studying is boring.
Doing the same thing every day is boring.
As a man who wants to go far in life, learn to be bored, silent, and alone.

A lot of people are not good people. They are just people who have never been in a position where being good would cost them something. Many people are not as principled as they think. They have simply never been sufficiently tempted.
It is easy to talk about loyalty when you have nothing to gain from betraying someone. It is easy to preach honesty when the truth doesn't threaten your interests. It is easy to condemn infidelity when you have never had an opportunity to cheat without getting caught. It is easy to talk about integrity when doing the right thing doesn't come at a personal cost.
I think we sometimes give people too much credit for virtues they have never actually had to demonstrate under pressure.
Your character is not fully revealed by what you say you would never do. It is revealed by what you have the opportunity to do, what you stand to gain from doing it, and what you choose when nobody can hold you accountable.

Socially… I struggle because I believe in honesty, loyalty… and I have no hidden agenda. I am still learning at my big age of 38 that everyone is out for themselves even at the expense of others, those that appear nice are truly mean and unhealed.

Not everyone will celebrate the version of you that no longer needs their approval, advice, money, or permission. Some relationships only felt peaceful because you were the one doing all the compromising.

not knowing what’s going on because you’re genuinely uninterested in people’s business is one of the most peaceful ways to live.

One thing is for certain, you’re not shaping and maintaining your body just to settle for someone with a deteriorating physique. You must get what you are! Period!
