Every startup needs to grow.
But 98% of founders don't know where to begin and get overwhelmed trying to understand "Growth".
Here are 7 actionable frameworks to help you grow your startup 🧵:
Fantastic update. Old Twitter is back. Excited to spend more time here again.
Would love to hear what you’re up to if you’re a mutual seeing this for the first time.
We're rolling out a small tweak to boost visibility of your posts to your mutuals (people who you follow back).
We noticed this data was missing from the algo and it made your friends appear less in your replies. This resulted in the reply section feeling more like a battleground with people you don't recognize.
This should also help clusters form around interests more easily, which many people have asked for.
Going to @startupfest in Montreal this week? I’m hosting sessions on leadership and energy management for startup execs.

Sunday word:
You can’t be faithful with what you’ve been called to do if you’re afraid to fail.
Acknowledge the fear, release it, and move forward.
The gap between fear and action is called growth.
The hardest thing to learn as a founder/high performer in tech is that recovery is productive.
Elite athletes spend 20% of their time performing, 30% practicing, and 50% recovering.
Meanwhile, we work 100 hour weeks on 4 hours of sleep and wonder why we’re burning out.
The #1 skill that separates good founders from great ones:
Storytelling.
This shows up everywhere:
- Launching a new product
- Closing a talented hire
- Bringing on the best investors
They build a narrative that speaks to people's emotions and makes success feel inevitable.

Just because improvements aren't visible doesn't mean they aren't happening.
You're not going to see the number change each time you step on the scale. You're not going to finish a chapter each time you sit down to write.
Early wins come easy. Lasting wins require a lifestyle.

The older I get, the more I realize confidence is less about knowing you’ll win and more about knowing you’ll bounce back even if you don’t. Real confidence is built on resilience. Adaptability. Tolerance for uncertainty. Fear loses when you embrace that failure is never final.

The fastest way to become confident is to build evidence.
Build yourself a stack of undeniable proof that you are who you say you are.
Do so much volume that you don't have time to doubt whether you can do it or not.

Underrated life advice: Build momentum early in the day. One small win in the morning creates energy that compounds throughout the day. Ten minutes of writing. A quick workout. A finished task. Great days are built on tiny wins that spark ripples. Small things become big things.

My progress always looks the same:
Start → suck → grind for months/years with no noticeable progress → suddenly look up after a long time and it’s 3x better.
Fitness: no change for months. “why isn’t this working!?” then after 6 months of consistent behavior, I see a before/after photo and am unrecognizable. Then the after photo becomes the baseline for next 6 months.
Business: I feel the same for years. “I don’t feel like a better, more mature leader. Am I not reading enough books!?” Then one day I see my work from 3 years ago realize I’ve leveled up completely.
KEEP GOING! That’s the hard part!!

The worst mistakes in life are made when you try to do fast what’s meant to be done slow. Real, durable things take a long time to build. Careers. Businesses. Relationships. Health. There are no hacks. There are no shortcuts. The long way is the right way.

The amount of money your company can make is directly related to the amount of incremental revenue your customers believe you help them make. Revenue your customers believe you help them make is therefore a better KPI than your revenue because you can always figure out how to optimize your pricing over time. And your customers will almost never churn as long your product continues to help them make a lot of money. Let me know if you can find an example at scale (companies with over $1b in revenue) where this is not true.

I’ve seen brilliant CEOs (much smarter than me) fail because they froze. And less brilliant-CEOs win because they moved. Learned from the action. Then moved forward again. In startups, motion > perfection.

A Monday morning question for you:
Are the results I am expecting aligned with the habits I am following each day?

Finding your way in life is like unlocking the combination of a safe. You have to go forwards and backwards. Life is not a direct march from A to B. The twists and turns are progress, not regression. What feels like a setback in the moment is later revealed to have been part of the path all along. Each move was necessary to get to your end goal.

I meet one too many VCs who think they are entitled to a founder's time.
If there's one thing I learned from @vkhosla last year, it's that you gotta..
I've been going to Othership for years, starting with their launch in 2021. It's been amazing to see their growth since then.
Congrats @robbiebent1 and the team on the NYC launch—would recommend that anyone in the area try it out!
This is the best piece of content ever done - it’s raw and captures the Othership experience. The haters say it’s culty, but its a masterpiece and will make you feel something. ---
