FREE IMRAN KHAN AND HIS SISTERS.
Responding to the arbitrary detention of members of former prime minister Imran Khan’s family, including his three sisters, as well as activists from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ahead of the party’s planned protests and march on 27 September: “The targeting of Imran Khan’s family and PTI party activists is a flagrant violation of their rights to liberty, freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly. Such actions speak to the severity of the current restrictions in Pakistan. “The pre-emptive arrests of PTI members come ahead of planned country-wide protests by the party on 27 September, which government officials have openly vowed to stop. Roadblocks are already being erected in Islamabad. These developments do not bode well, especially given the authorities’ long track record of reckless and unlawful use of force against protesters. A protest cannot be deemed violent before it has even started. Pakistan’s authorities must uphold their obligations under international human rights law to facilitate peaceful assembly and refrain from unlawful measures to thwart these protests." amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2…

Deeply concerning to see Aleema Khan, sister of jailed former PM Imran Khan, arrested and detained for 30 days under the Maintenance of Public Order law — days before PTI’s planned Sept 27 protest. I interviewed her in December about her brother’s imprisonment. Watch ⬇️
Imran Khan’s sister Aleema breaks her silence to me about his treatment in prison — from restricted access to family and lawyers to fears for his health and safety. A rare, intimate glimpse inside the jail cell of Pakistan’s most popular — and most divisive — political figure. #ImranKhan #Pakistan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) early Monday morning alleged that two more sisters of party founder Imran Khan, along with their children, were arrested by Punjab Police. The allegations came after Aleema Khan was detained by authorities in Lahore under Section 3 of the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance, 1960, and transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail for 30 days. PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram said the family members had been placed in an armoured vehicle and were being taken to an undisclosed location. “Punjab Police have arrested both sisters of Imran Khan, along with their children and the sons of Aleema Khan. They have been placed in an armoured vehicle and are being taken to an unknown location,” Akram said in a post on X early Monday.

🇵🇰 INCREDIBLE STUFF! Pakistan is sealing roads into Islamabad with shipping containers, some seemingly fitted with ROWS OF METAL SPIKES ahead of Imran Khan’s PTI march on September 27 Authorities have already detained Khan’s sisters under public-order laws, arrested PTI figures and deployed extra security as the government vows to stop the march. The awkward part for Washington is who sits atop Pakistan’s security system: Field Marshal Asim Munir, whom Trump has repeatedly praised as his “favorite field marshal,” while U.S.-Pakistan military cooperation has been warming again, including a proposed $686 million F-16 upgrade package. That image is brutal: American military cooperation on one side. Shipping containers with spikes pointed at protesters on the other. Writer: Oli teapawt.net/AdvHaiderMajeed/status…
WTF IS GOING ON IN PAKISTAN! They arrest the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, put him in solitary confinement for years, do the same to his wife, then start arresting his family And now arrest his sister, who's in her 70s, because she's speaking out in support of her brother! the former PRIME MINISTER!!! Enough is enough! THE FAMILY HAS BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH!

Imran Khan’s consistent stance on Afghanistan. Never forget what they took from us 💔
Once upon a time, when Pakistan was ruled by the leader Imran Khan, I truly felt proud of being a Pakistani and also had a strong sense of nationalism. But today, when Pakistan is ruled illegally by the fascists and tyrants, I’m truly ashamed of being a Pakistani.
