Hey @grok, if gender is a social construct then mustn't it be ontologically dependent on collective human practices, norms, language, institutions, and shared agreements? In other words a tranny doesn't get to pick their gender; rather, the rest of society picks it for them?

It's astounding that the people doing this aren't simply being killed in the streets. Can you imagine permanently disfiguring someone's child and somehow thinking you'll continue to live your life normally?
🇺🇸 “As red states ban sex-rejecting procedures for minors, and the Department of Justice shuts down pediatric transgender facilities at hospitals, the business is going underground. Two reports published this week reveal the degree to which the industry that performs sex-rejecting procedures on children relies on subterfuge and sneaking.” Read more at the link in our replies. ⬇️

Look I'm not religious but this is the exact opposite of how missionaries work. It's more like: Hey you look like you need water. Here, take this. Let me make sure you are safe and well. Now that you're ok, would you mind if I share the faith that brings me here?
The missionaries are really Despicable🤦🏿

Let's use a car analogy to examine how stupid the French internet tax is. A normal tax is a small fraction of the price. The price to transmit 1GB is around $0.0005. A $0.05 tax is a 10000% tax. In the US, it would be like charging a $500 tax on every $5 gallon of gas.

The cyber stuff just gets tiresome. I have daybreak, but this task isn't security related - it's a MTL4/Vulkan translation layer in Darling. But, it's tracking down a crash bug and ... boom. @thsottiaux this is a pretty major usability issue for codex that Claude solves well.
Optimized. Quarter million cubes on the gpu from a MacOS Metal4 app running under Darling. Used my phone because wf-recorder seems itself to not capture smoothly. Need to look into that. About 30fps

This isn't rare - I woke up to two of these refusals which totally stalled each task. Daybreak is also problematic as it's quite paranoid - so it freaks out about unimportant things like (for example) host key mismatches on a Macbook that I am rebooting between MacOS/Linux. In all cases the solution is to ask Claude to take over and I know you guys don't want that.

Two simple, actionable fixes: 1) If a user is daybreak approved, tell them what caused the refusal in a non-daybreak model. 2) Create a hybrid model like Claude uses rather than rigid, binary infosec categories which don't fit actual development patterns.

I took a look at this stupid French internet tax bill. Here are the key provisions: 1) The tax is capped at 15% of French revenue. So even though NFLX sends like 200EB/$11B the tax is capped at 15% of $1.6B or about $250 million. 2) You're still charged for using a CDN - and from my reading I think this would include bittorrent. The tax isn't actually on bandwidth into France. They're taxing local traffic too. 3) The mechanism is requiring French ISPs to measure and identify traffic -- and is very confused and likely technically infeasible. The law itself makes a number of technical errors, confusing IANA registration identity with traffic production. It is likely impossible to implement as written. The tax is on the aggregate data sent, not on individual users. 4) It has other very stupid objectives like encouraging companies to use better compression technologies (as if we weren't already) The best way to view this bill is an attempt to impose a flat 15% tax on any company sending data to French users.

this is a whole ass thing. if someone tried to write code by hand right now i’d say get this bioslop out of here
you must overcome ai-induced ego death: the sooner you accept that the models are smarter than you, the sooner you’ll see your true value was never just your intelligence and you'll be so much happier

When people tell you that transition clinics save lives and detransition clinics aren't necessary they are lying. You can point them at the facts, here. Only deransition (returning to health) should be covered by insurance.
Fox Varian’s “top surgery” was covered by Child Health Plus - New York’s taxpayer-funded kids’ plan. Her revision surgery after detransitioning was "cosmetic" so denied coverage - the family paid $6-8k for it. A fraudulent diagnosis was the only was listed in her preop clinic visits and was the one most likely used to get her gender surgery covered by taxpayers. Under 18 U.S.C. § 1347, knowingly using false diagnoses as part of a scheme to obtain insurance payment can constitute criminal federal healthcare fraud. Under 18 U.S.C. § 1035, it is a federal crime to knowingly provide materially false statements in medical records or other documents related to healthcare services or insurance payment.

It is medical fraud. The butchers slicing up America's children are lying to insurers to cover their crimes and to profit from children's suffering. Failure to prosecute this fraud is part of why things got as far as they did. It's time to put a lot of doctors in prison.

"Normal" clinics don't exist. These facilities are run by radical manipulators who pressure children into surgical abuse. It is conversion therapy to make kids trans. These facts have been laid out quite plainly in the various detransitioner lawsuits.
I’m a trans woman who was sent to a conversion therapist weekly for 2 years, so I know exactly how this will be used. Any children who genuinely regret transition will probably detransition through normal routes (offered by normal trans clinics). The children who are sent (1/3)

Trans is not a sexuality - it does not describe what kind of person you're attracted to. Trans is a mental disorder and it correlates strongly with other extremely dangerous disorders.

Did you know that in MN it's illegal to have sex with a member of the clergy if you've asked them for spiritual advice or any kind of comfort? It's also illegal to have sex with your Uber driver if you're disabled.
Female teacher in Minnesota jailed for six months after booking hotel rooms to have sex with an 18 year old boy on four occasions

Just cut a task to implement kgdb support in xodb, might as well show off what it can do if it's potentially going to get axed. We already do gdb-remote. I'm also eyeballing ways to potentially maintain functionality post-patch eg what's described here lkml.org/lkml/2026/10/29/120…

I only briefly glanced at this but it seems the patch is only proposing removal on x86 - so even if it's removed this will still be useful on other architectures.
